Hey guys last year in OCT i went to a AC "specialist" and i use the term loosly and paid him $250 to fix my AC before summer hit. to cut a long story short he put in the new gas, covered my car in a heap of green dye, and it still doesnt work.
in fact i think he might have damaged something as ever since taking it to him my heater works intermittantly and i have NO cooling at all.
any advice on whats the prob and where to go in melb would be great

There's normally only a couple of problems possible Jesse, it's either leaking gas or the compressor's stuffed. i'd take it to another "specialist" see if he can see any of that dye around the place.

I had a similar unhappy experience with an aircon guy who re-gassed my system. My pressure switch was faulty, and not allowing the compressor to cut in. He replaced the switch (at a HELL of a price) and it now works, execpt now the "blow" fan in front of the aircon rad runs constantly - it runs off the same switch afaik - and he didn't want to know about it.

Go and see another specialist to get a price and diagnosis - as Kip says AC problems are usually fairly straghtfoward to find (for an expert), even if they're not always cheap to fix.
