Hey guys it has been mentioned with a couple of people that their heaters work fine and they get the usual 33 degree soarer sauna while moving but when stopped at the traffic lights or whatever the air just turns cold.

It never seemed to get fully resolved in any of the other posts although and clean or change of vsv was mentioned.

Can anyone shed anymore light on the issue??

It might be stupid, but checked the coolant level?

That is definitely the answer. Air in the cooling system. As the heater inlet in the engine bay is higher than the rest of the system, when the engine is idling there isn't enough pressure to force hot water through the heater, so it cools off until the engine revs come up again.

On a 1UZ-FE, just open the thermostat filler cap (you will need a large screwdriver) and fill at the thermostat until the water reaches the top. Replace the cap, run the car for a bit, let it cool completely, and repeat. Very easy on the 1UZ thanks to the thermostat housing being the highest point in the cooling system!

Huh? Use the bolt just above the thermostat.

Thats what I ment, you can undo the bolt with a screwdriver (or a large socket, but a screwdriver is much easier)
