No real pics yet, need to tweek a few things and make it look pretty. Plus find something to fill the new hole the old EMV has left, lol.
I did start to use the female plug from the EMV CC ECU but found my skills weren't up to that. So I just soldered the wires in the car. I had the dash out at the time which made things easier for me.
Does anyone who has done this swap have temp control?

I have been going through what has been posted and just wanted to know the way you count is it loom side or face side of the plug?
Reason i ask is because some where they have said is wire has nothing.. I can understand that colour can change but can't figure out if my plugs are wrong.
Below is what the colour and pin out of the plugs with my unit. Also i am going from face side (side that connects to the unit)
Non EMV plugs
Plug A (left on unit) 1 Red 2 Purple 3 Red/Yellow 4 Green 5 Green/Red 6 Red/White 7 White /Black 8 White 9 Yellow/Black 10 nothing 11 nothing 12 nothing 13 nothing 14 nothing 15 Blue/Red

Chris this cable would suit 12v systems up to 2A max assuming your loom is less than 0.5m long. you cable is 13 0.12 which means 13 strands at 0.12mm diameter each strand. convert this to overall cross sectional area is about 0.147mm2
It would suffice for most of the circuits other than the positive feed, ground, and acc.
I would suggest using a heavier wire for all circuits. something about 0.5mm2 just to make sure.
Something else to ponder is will the fuse now protect the cable. Fuses are sized appropriately such that they will break before the cable, hence protecting the cable from burning though. If your new cables are now only handling 2A and your fuse for AC/ control is 5A (guessing here) your cable will burn out before the fuse if something short circuits, potentially causing a fire.

Well i gave up on Tim's 'notes' and followed Richards Guide.. Everything seems to work ok, but the same as others, the temp is stuck at 25.. Any way we can change this? How do the TT's change the temp? is it a knob like in the V8's? If so (i think they do) then there must be a way to hook it up..
I do vaguely recall having troubles with temp control, but I'm pretty sure it was just I hadn't reconnected the small plug up in the far top left.
The best advice I have is to double check all your connections (and test them with a multi-meter as well if you've soldered them to the connector). When I did mine I didn't rely on the posts on here, instead used the wiring diagrams which were worth their weight in gold.

Looks good Chris. Any luck in getting it all working? What size wiring did you use? I got another EMV aircon computer sitting here to use the plug from but i think my non emv unit wont work as its from a 97 soarer and the pin outs on the plugs are different then what has been posted sigh..

Hey Nathan, yeah i fitted it all back in tonight, and yes it's all working perfectly.. Temp control and all, so it must be the plug that Tim pointed out.. i connected that, and all good I used the automotive wiring that you get from repco whatever that is.. i threw the little spindle things away already sorry..i used 2 spindles, and it was plenty long enough. Cheers

Chris: Well done now you will have aircon for the summer Thats cool dude just wanted to know the wiring. I got some wiring sitting here that looks OEM from work just hope its thick enough. Well the wires used are off an aftermarket alarm plus i got some wiring from Jaycar sitting here as well.
Allan: A few posts up i posted up what the pinouts on the plugs that are connected to the back of a non emv unit out of a 97 soarer so who knows the later EMV could be different again. From memory Toyota have not change there plugs and wiring since 96 i think it is not 100% sure on the year. All current model toyota's all have the same wiring and plug styles. Good thing about toyota they dont change with every single model theses days. Only thing that is not is when you upgrade to the OEM sat nav you just need a patch harness for the nav to work.

The 09/97 EMV air con wiring is the same, however, do remember that there is a variation on the non EMV style air con panel - this causes the fan blower motor to only run at max or off.
