Hi All, if anybody is in Sydney area and needs a/c serviced give this guy a call, Elias @ All Car Air Conditioning, 0418 164 234. This is a mobile service so he comes to you at home or work.

I can't recommend him highly enough, he was delayed and called to let me know he would be late. Did an excellent job, very thorough, he could of told me anything as a sensor was not connected however that was pointed straight out to me.

He dye tested and lubricated the system, vaccummed old gas then re-gassed and then tripled checked for any other problem.

He spent over 2 hours actually on the car plus travel time to drive 45kms to my work address and charged less than $150.......I nearly offered to pay more!

Excellent to hear you got a good service.

Be aware that some leaks do show up over time with system running, so if you have a UV Light you can have a look yourself. Places you can check, preferably while system is running, easier to detect in dark or low light.

- Hose crimps and connections
- EPR Valve (near passengers strut tower)
- Compressor ports
- Underside of compressor, indicates ussually a shaft seal leak and underside would be moist

Also be alert for any weird smells on initial startup of blower fan in morning, that indicates an evaporator leak (or gas leaking past TXV O-rings)

To also confirm an evaporator leak (and a larger one at that), you can shine the UV light at the evaporator drain in engine bay if its accessible, sometimes traces of dye will be visible in some cases.

Boris, thanks for the info, I can't believe how efficient the a/c is now. I've got it set @ 24.5
