Hi there,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My air con in my TT has been working fine but now after turning on the air con the light stays on for about 4secs and then starts flashing (air con stops). While the light is on I can feel cold air coming out and i've checked the gas viewer and its clear - so I don't believe the gas is too low - after all is was working fine. I've checked all associated fuses and they're fine. I've also performed diagnostics and codes 21 (open or short in solar sensor circuit), 41 (air mix damper position sensor value does not change even if ECU operates air mix servomotor), 42 (air inlet damper position sensor value does not change even if ECU operates air inlet servomotor) and 43 (air outlet damper position sensor value does not change even if ECU operates air outlet servomotor) appear. What does this mean and is it anything I can easily fix up (i'm pretty hopeless with cars!). I'm assuming the solar sensor circuit is the guilty party but what on earth is this!!! Cheers

Cheers Peter. I got it regassed about 2 years ago with replacement 'o' ring. I remember before that when I had no cold air and the reason I got it regassed was that I could see all the bubbles in the viewer indicating very low gas, yet the A/C light never flashed like it is now - I just didn't get any cold air with the air con on.

Does anyone know of anywhere that does diagnostics? My mechanic cannot run diagnostics on my TT for some reason. I'm NW Adelaide (Ferryden Park). Cheers.

Does anyone know whether an air compressor from a V8 Soarer is the same model as the one in the TT? I see there are two part no's a CPM00162 (Type 1) and a CPM00163 (Type 2). Or more importantly can a V8 compressor be fitted into a TT?

For anyone that's interested here is my experience.
I found a used compressor at Adelaide Jap Imports for $165 off a low kms engine (70K apparently). Cheapest used other was ~$275. Cheapest new was $775 from Castle Hill Toyota.
I went down to Les at Affordable Mobile Airconditioning in Melrose Park and got it fitted and regassed with HR12 for $250. He said it seemed to be a good compressor although it does whine a bit more than the original. But so far all is good and cost me $415 in total, which I think was a good deal, but I suppose time will tell.

Hi Evan, I've just bought a 95 SC300. Looks like the air-conditioning compressor just kicked the bucket a few weeks after I bought it (bugger). Same issue in that I switch the A/C on and the compressor won't turn (also causes overheating issues if I play with it to much while driving). I'm guessing it's a stuffed bearing? Can you please point me in the direction of where to get a pulley bearing from and how much I might expect to pay? Thanks.
