Air conditioning seems to operate OK, but running a diagnostics check tonight the EMV displayed error code 41 for A/C(ECU has been reset previously so not an old code presumably). According to the translation (http://soarercentral.com/alsc-forum/messages/4/codes.pdf) error 41 for A/C means:

Failure of Mode Damper Servor Potentiometre.

Disconnected for more than 1 minute

The solution is supposedly to "Check potentiometre, connector or wiring harness" but I have no idea:

a) what this is; or
b) where to find it

And even if I knew a) and b):

c) how to "check" it

Any clues?

As a/c appears ok I'd try doing another reset of the ECU and see if the same error code comes up.

Will it change the temperature of the air coming from the vents when you turn the ac temp knob from max cold to max hot?
