Hey Neil,
Thanks, I understand that it won't get cold obviously, its just that when I set it to auto climate control at say 25 degrees, it turns on A/C automatically. Is that bad? Sorry if I sound like an idiot...
Cheers.

Mike, If you're concerned, when you push the "Auto" button and the A/C button lights up, just push the "A/C" button, and it will cancel the A/C part of the operation while still leaving the system at 25 degrees. I do this a lot in winter, as I just need the warmth, without the de-humidifying effect of the A/C.
Note: You will need to do this every time you start the car, as it defaults to engage the A/C when you push the auto climate control button.
But, as Neil says, you won't be harming anything if you leave it on.

My A/C also needs a service - ie it doesn't get cold. I have noted my A/C light just flashes if I leave the switch on. I have assumed this is warning me it's none operational - is this a correct assumption?

Hmm, mine doesn't do that - A/C stays off when you switch it off, even in Auto Mode. The fresh air/cycled air often resets to cycle mode when in Auto though (depending on air temp I guess) - drives me nuts sometimes.
I think my V8 did used to switch the A/C back on when you started the car though, so maybe its something they changed.

Is it strange that mine seems to be out of gas, yet the A/C light does not flash? The light stays constantly on. I did check the glass valve thing near the front right (looking at the car) and that seemed to show no signs of liquid... (so I assume the A/C is empty?) Why would my light not flash?
