Hey

Ok while my car was in the work shop for 3mths at the beginning of the year, i sent the Air con unit to Mark to get led lights put in. I got the car back and noticed that when you turn the Air con on or Heater on...you can adjust how much power you want but whats coming out of the vents is not changing just stuck on full ball. Also you press the buttons on the Air Con unit and does not make any sound at all.

Can someone tell me what needs to be done to fix it or have any suggestions? Id like to have the heater on but not full ball its quite loud and annoying, then its to hot. lol

I got my mechanic to check all the plugs back there, he said there all pluged in. So i dont think its a loose plug anywhere.

Some A/C units beep and some don't. The later white housing one's don't.
The fan stuck on full is either a fault in the A/C unit (I couldn't test for that but can now) or the power transistor (separate to A/C unit) is shorted.

I used to have a black one. I recieved a white one back from you Mark, So i guess thats why it dont beep no more when i push a button So thats that problem solved. Any Chance that the one you sent me back had a fault in the Air Con Unit and you didnt realise?

Resurrecting an old thread Kyle.

When I bought my Soarer I had the same problem, fan speed controls don't work so I got replacement resistor and transistor modules and installed them with no change.

I did a bit more research and looked at the wiring diagrams and there was a change about 95ish I think, could be earlier or later, and even though the connectors are identical the pinouts and controls are different and this will cause the unit to run the fan at full speed.

If your's is an earlier model then it's possible that you have a later control module fitted. When my screen went out the previous owner got a second hand unit from a later model and fitted it.

Matt.

Sorry Matt, forgot to clarify mine is stuck on the lowest setting not the highest.

The thing is the fan speed settings had always worked and then one day it just stopped working when I went to alter the fan speed.

So I dont think the wrong computer model would be the issue. More so that something has just failed? Everything else works as normal though still.

The unit still beeps when I press the fan buttons too.

It's likely to be the resistor module then. You can pull the module and test continuity across the pins to see if it's faulty.

Remove the glovebox to get to the blower setup.

The resistor module is easy to find, it's a screw in module with some wires coming off it.
