im posting this warning as i wanted to see what these oil catch cans on ebay are like..

well pulled one apart today and i have to say very bad.once i popped the lid off i discovered there was no filtration device at all.nothing.so first up its useless.

secondly from chroming the can the inside of it had metal flakes ready to come loose and go into your turbos and engine possibly causing damage.not good.

the point is you get what you pay for.but would lose much more through such dodgy parts.

you have been warned stay clear.
below are some pics of the inside.

i got the same one, though the chroming wasnt peeling on mine and i just threw some steel wool in there to filter it.

Still cant work out the 3 inlet/outlets.
Im assuming, the bottom one is for return line to sump, one top one for air intake, and the other for cam cover?

for $40 i cant complain though

Oil/air separators don't need physical filtration media to separate the oil from the air.
The Greddy style cans rely on gravity and the 180 degree turn to separate the oil and trap it - has worked effectively for my Soarer engines over 4 years now.
Apparently on some poorly designed cans where physical filtration media is used, it is prone to either overwhelming the filter media and blocking the crankcase ventilation system and popping hoses or the media breaking down into smaller pieces and being passed back into the engine where it can do more damage to the valvetrain and rotating assembly by clogging oil drain passages, or lodging against moving parts wearing them down prematurely.
