Thanks John. I've already picked up the twin tips plats. Was going to go to supercheap but had to go to toyota to get an oil filter so I got the platinums there. NGK's at supercheap were more expensive than Denso from toyota.
Wasn't too keen on the IK20's. They run a thinner electrode than most Iridiums. Supposedly the thin tip rounds off in less time than the 0.7mm tips and as such, have to be replaced every 30 000km or so. If I was going to do that, I'd just use copper plugs.
I'll see how they run with the blower. I didn't want to get colder plugs incase I ended up with a crappy idle.

Are there any advantages with going for the PK20TR-11 Dual Platinum tips over the standard PK20R-11 for the V8 engine?
I strangely put copper tip plugs in which sort of miss fire on cold start ups so changing them soon, would these Dual tip PK20TR-11 sort out that issue?

Mike,
From what I've read the only advantage dual tips offer is longer life. The arc still only comes from one tip per cycle, so actual spark is not improved in any way - the tips just last longer as the arc will move from one tip to another, depending on which is the least point of resistance.
Since single tip platinums and iridiums already last 60,000 - 100,000km's, I think the duel tips are a bit of a gimmic.
I think you'll probably find having iridium or platinums will help a bit, or you could try a slightly hotter copper plug - generally running a hotter plug will help with poor running when cold, but can cause pinging under load at running temperature, and worst case cause over heating.
Stay away from copper anyway, as copper tips are quite thick compared to platinum and especially iridium, so the spark characteristic is quite different.
My advise is to fit iridiums - you'll find that the NGK iridium is slightly cheaper than the NGK platinum, and has the same wear properties, and a finer tip which improves spark a bit. Iridium is more durable than platinum also.
From memory mine (which are the same as recommended for the 1uz) were $24 each from Supercheap - that was last year so I doubt it would have changed.
Check out other brands too, some might be cheaper, and the technology is all really much the same.
