Neil you wouldn't happen to have a Bosch or Toyota part number for the 1JZ O2 sensor would you? I asked at Repco for a universal 3-wire for a 1JZ and they didn't have the 1JZ info on file (import) and were unsure about which 3-wire to give me, since they have different threads or whatnot.

Thanks for the quick reply... but what?

$125--$250 for an 02 sensor? Ouch

The ones on ebay are like $20-80... and I know they aren't the ones I need, but it sounds like a whole lotta cash. Not saying you're wrong, but woah :-(

I bought an O2 sensor for me previous car (Nissan 180sx) for $110, that was SERIOUSLY cheap at the time.

$140 for a Soarer sensor is a walk in the park, all part and parcel of maintenance too.

Hi Neil,
I've had a search around the forum for this info before contacting you, but with no luck,
I have a 1990 UFC11 Celsior that has crap fuel consumption. Suspect the O2 sensors.
- Can you tell me if there are 4 O2 sensors...2 front 2 rear? not sure about the 1990.
- Toyota quoted on original toyota items at $260 each front & just got quoted $600 on each of the rear...that sound right for originals (if there really are 4?)
- are they the same as 1990 LS400 O2 sensors?
- Is there a cheaper alternative from the bosch range or the like? Are the ones from ebay crap? is there any from Autobarn or the like you could suggest?
- do they need modification (like the re-welding of the old mounting plate)?, different wire connections etc
- big ask, but do you know the part numbers i'm looking for?
- Maybe you sell these & I could cut to the chase & purchase from you?

I've read up on the potential capacitor leakage, but haven't had the chance to check that as yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as considering originals are about $1700 outlay (maybe?) Thank you.

P.S. been watching the silvia build. cant wait for some more pics. Many years ago I had an XU1 with a group A 5litre 4 speed. I still miss it dearly.

Mark,
I can do 2 for $170 delivered.
Thats all you need.
Your other 2 are heat probes.

They will need to join the wires together from your old ones, as these are universal.

Mark,
I threw in 2 red wire joiners..
Installer will need to CUT the plug off the new ones and then CUT the plug from the old ones, then JOIN the OLD plug to the new o2 sensors..easy as that :-)

I have played with no such thing.

AFM is intact. o2 sensors are a main culprit of failing when it comes to the JZX VVT-i's

Im getting plugs redone soon when i get the new bushes and hopefully can throw an o2 sensor in just to clear a few possibillites off the list.

BOV line taken off =) FLUTTER hhahaha.. even with it on it still runs the same (rich, fuel consumption very bad) I only manage MAX 350km a full tank with good boy driving or heavy foot.

Sorry I have been quite irresponsible to say that it will only blow vast amounts of smoke when i plant it. Mildly driving will tend not to blow much out but like I said, 350km is pretty bad considering average should be about 450-550

Hi Neil,

Will an o2 sensor cause misfiring??

I got a 94 TT manual, and buggered if I know what i have left to try...

Have done:

coils
power distributer or some thingy (doug from S&L did all this)
spark plugs
injector cleaner
fuel filter

Doug also cleaned the ECu connectors and reckons that had a slight impact..
