Hello everyone. well, i've finally decieded that my current car has to go and i'm gonna replace it with a Celsior, yay for me. Now me been completly new to the Celsior, I have done a bit of research into them but must admit its not easy. I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction so I can get my research done before I buy. I'm looking to spend between $8,000 - $10,000. I'm looking to find out what I need to be wary of with these cars, eg, any issues with engines, brakes, transmission, electrical etc etc. Personal experience with the cars. Basically anything that you think would be of assistance.

Thanks in advance guys.

Nick

EDIT: Oh, and before anyone says that the price i stated is too cheap, or that I'd only get something nasty for that price, I am intending/willing to do the work required to get it looking shmick

Greetings Nick..............if you do a search using <celsior> as the criteria, you'll find exactly the answers you are seeking

But a basic answer is that mechanicaly, as in: donk, trans, brakes & electrical are usually not a worry, BUT suspension components including air-struts, lower front ball joints & various bushes can be shagged like you wouldn't believe...........all are replaceable, but can be costly if you're on a budget.

I'm confidant that you will be able to pick up a tidy example for $10k.

Good luck

G'day Nick, Celsior's are quite a problem free for a car of their age. BUT air-bags are usually shagged by now and will require replacing ($3000+) or be converted to coilovers($1500+). Also budget for new bushes/ball joints, but these can wait awhile.

Nick.............we've seen about 1 or 2 a month for sale on here from established members, which tend to be the better ones to buy, as they have been "Enthusiast" owned, as opposed to "Opportunist" owned.............if ya get my drift?
