first of all, nice forums, and very informative.
secondly i have recently purchased a 1990 ucf11 celsior, fully decked, and am absolutely loving this car.
but i am sick to death of the constant beeping telling you the door is open, does anyone know how to get rid of the beeping in any way?
thankyou for all help.

Take the keys out !!

I have also removed the reversing beeper which is relatively easy .
The door chimes are to the right and back of the throttle pedal down behind the kick panel , not easy to get at but really just a matter of stripping things out til you get to it .

Gday Sam and Rich, thanks for the info.
The door chime doesnt really bother me, but i hope to remove the reverse beeper soon.
If i could ask also, do you know how to stop the auto locking at about 25 kmh please?
That bugs me more than anything having to unlock the other doors manually again after stopping.

Gday Sam, welcome.

Plenty of folks round these parts should be able to help you out with any dramas you have with your new pimp mobile

Im pretty sure I saw your car about a week ago, going past the swimming center up near TTP. Very nice!

I know this is an old post but for Ross and all you others out there with the door locking issue, have you tried looking around for a button/switch to disable this feature. My UCF11 has a switch to the bottom right of the steering wheel (situated in a small group of other little switches), and the icon resembles a door with a key inside it. If mine has it then i don't know why others wouldn't???

Gday Adam, i have that switch, but on mine its to enable/disable the remote central locking from the button on the key, and has no effect on the auto locking after moving off from a standstill.

One of my mates tried to remove the door chime, but when he did, it worked... but I lost the ability to tilt my steeringwheel as the celsior is electric tilt... anyone else have that problem?

Probably because he didn't actually remove the door chime, but instead removed the switch that tells the car that the key is in the ignition.

Ross, that is very interesting coz switching the button off in my car does exactly what you stated (remove the ability to open the car with the key button) but with my car it ALSO stops the doors from automatically locking. weird...
