i recently had a full overhaul of my power steering pump. however the non pressure side hose was so deteriorated i needed to get a new one. after some phone calls to toyota and lexus it came to my attention that this hose was no longer available. so in desperation i went a bought a straight pirtek hose and bent it into shape. the original pump hose was 10mm, however pirtek only deal in imperial so the hose is slightly too small.... since i refitted the power steering pump there is a really loud whirring sound when the car is cold.... any suggestions???

The fluid level is probably too low.

Either that or you may have a kink in the new line somewhere?
