G'day guys & girls. I've been keeping an eye out for fresh UCF10/11 Celsior's for the past few months now and am becoming very picky. Yeah they are 17+ years old now but I love the look of them. Preferably, I want a CF Package. Yeah, I know that drivers don't sit in the rear seat, but I want the option either way! I want a luxury car and I think it finishes off the whole package. The extra weight doesn't bother me. I have checked out a few and found that some of them are in very bad condition. On the other hand others have been in mint condition, but lacking the luxury options of the CF Package. So, I thought I might keep an eye out for a 20 series. I haven't seen anything but stock 20 series Celsior's anywhere. The other thing is that I'm not too sure weather there are many 20 series CF Package Celsior's. So if anyone owns a 20 series with all the bells & whistles, or at least has some pics of one so I can get an idea of what to expect, that would be great ( big wheels, dark tints, chrome strips, etc). I just want to see so can decide wether to go ahead and chase one or jus settle for a UCF10/11.
Cheers & thanks,
Nathan.

Gday Nathan, UCF20 Celsiors have never really been imported here because they were too new to qualify for import under the now defunct 15 year rule like the UCF10/11 was. The new law states that the vehicle had to be built before 1/1/89, or not have had an equivalent model sold here new. So if you want a UCF20, your only real choice now is an LS400 which was sold here new, and they didnt have the rear seat controls or air suspension like the JDM Celsiors had. There may be a few 20 series Celsiors here, but they would only have come in by personal import by an immigrant or returning resident who has owned and used the car overseas for a certain period of time.

Ok Ross, no worries mate. Thanks for that. I've spent a good deal of the day trying to contact someone from the department of transport to try and get an idea of the regulations on imported vehicles over here in NSW and had no luck. Should have just posted a message instead. They gave me the run around all day! Too bad ha?! Anyway there are more UCF10/11 out there than i first expected, its just a matter of finding one in top condition that has everything. (almost impossible!) Otherwise I'll just have to settle for one without a F package.

As long as the vehicle was over 15 years old, you could import it without having to go through the full compliance thing like newer vehicles do. But that law ended about 18 months ago, and was replaced with one that only allowed vehicles that had been built before 1st Jan 1989. Anything newer has to be on an 'allowed list' from Dotars that certain workshops had been given permission to engineer and comply to Australian Design Standards. Not interested in my one?
Its a C-F, the only options it does'nt have is a sunroof and air purifier.
The body is'nt perfect, a couple of fade spots here and their but overall its very good, interior is excellent, some extras like HID headlights, Aluminium grill, debadged, air suspension controller and clear front indicators, only after $10,500.

I live in Nowra on the south Coast, about 2.5 hours drive south of sydney or the same time from canberra.
Everything works, the seat massagers, heaters rear stereo and air conditioning controls, I actually bought a stock c-f stereo from Japan after I bought my car as it had an aftermarket one, I wanted all the controls like you do.
That price is pretty firm at this stage, Its rego'd til June 16 and has 139,000 kms, I think this is one of the best value Celsiors around.

Blair, Yeah I definitely would like to come and have a look at it mate. If it's still around I'd like to come down in a couple of weeks, if that is ok with you. I'll let you know when though.
