Hello all,
I'm now in Indonesia, and I have happened to come across this 1993 Lexus LS400 (directly imported in 1993 from either UK or HK, judging from the car's OEM Fog Lights), with apparently 26,000 km on the Odometer:
With the above 20' wheels and tyres, the car is currently being offered at a price of 145,000,000 IDR (equivalent to AU$18,200, with AU$1 fetching 7,968 IDR).
I have yet to personally inspect the car, and the opening price is negotiable.
Please post your comments, and whether you would purchase this car, and if not, on what basis?
Your opinions would be greatly appreciated, and will help me in deciding whether to buy this car or not.
I think that is a bit high priced, and doubt they are legit km, however without inspecting it i can't say for certain. Body looks really nice. Good judge will be interior wear and tear, with 26000km it should be basically brand spanking new interior, with nearly new car smell, shouldn't be cracked leather seating etc. But inspection required for sure.

Having been to Indonesia I can believe that the K's are right, it's all very different over there. However it's probably also sat in traffic for a lot of it's life and the hour meter if it had one would be pretty high. If you look on Carpoint and other such sites you will see that you could buy a Lexus/Celsior in Oz for similar money and not have to worry about compliance and shipping. The price is OK considering the k's but it certainly isn't the bargain of the week. Plus you will have quite a bit of on cost to get it here and on the road. It is however a lovely and unusual colour even if the wheels look like something that could be won at a sideshow!!

Hi Ken,
Thank you for your opinion, I greatly appreciate it.
In fact, I don't plan to export this vehicle to Australia.
I'm actually planning to use such a car in Indonesia. The vehicle shown is in Jakarta, but if successfully purchased, I will be using it in East Java, where the traffic is much more smoother and where it moves.
What do you mean when you say "considering the K's.. it isn't the bargain of the week"?

Gday Paul, seeing as you will be only using the car in Indonesia, then the price might be ok, but it wouldnt be a bargain to bring back here as it seems the going rate for a 93 is far less here than there. There are some on ebay for about half that price.
