Fitted up my new RDA slotted rotors and 95 to 00 alloy 4 pots on saturday night , later model flat balljoint arms also went on so that the caliper cleared the rack ball joint nut . Much much better , just stronger all around . On emergency stops a huge distance loss !! Even with normal braking less pedal pressure is needed , seems smoother as well , that might be down to the far greater swept area . Even my partner could feel the difference , she really likes them !! I like a lot , worth every cent !!

Well the rebuilt calipers with new clips , pins , pads and seals including the dust ones was $580.00 all up , the new RDA slotted rotors [ 314 mm ] where $330.00 all up and the new later type balljoints with the flat arms where $160.00 the pair , so basically it was a grand all up . Take in mind the calipers needed a recon anyway [ they are 17 years old ] I needed new disc's as well and was certainly due for new ball joints so it was only an extra $300.00 odd over what I had to spend anyway , not much extra for the added safety .

Mmmm I'm definitely going to do some brake upgrades next year. Stock small celsior brakes just dont cut it really!
For the big upgrade are the 2nd Gen celsior brake calipers + RDA rotors front and just stock 2nd gen rear disks + Green stuff pads the way to go?
Speaking of brakes, Ill be doing a pad change and fluid change soon... any particular pads and fluid I should specifically use on the stock small 2 pot celsior brakes?

Mike just don't put Bendix pads in , either run genuine or a ceramic type pad . I run genuines in the back as I know I won't have dust and a ceramic in the front that came with the calipers that doesn't dust the wheels up either . I would use a brand name of fluid but really any fluid will do as long as it's Dot 4 .

OK , the 96 calipers [ 4 spots ] are quite a bit longer and they foul on the nut of the steering rack ball-joint that is on the arm that carries the lower big ball-joint and bolts to the bottom of the strut . The early arms have a step in it while the later ones are a lot flatter and allow the caliper to clear the rack ball-joint nut . If you are going to replace the bottom ball-joint it makes no difference to use the later flat type , this way if you decide to go for the big brakes this is covered . You will have to have the toe in/out redone as this alters it a little bit , should be doing a wheel alignment after replacing worn suspension components anyway !!
