Hey guys, Starting to look into what sort of wheels and tyres would suit my '90 Celsior in Blue Grey. So far Ive been rather Undecided on what to really go for... 5 spokes and so on or even multi spokes. Deep dish styled wheels really seem the way too go for these cars from what Ive seen too...
One thing I think must be important is that they have a decent width 8.5-9" For the rears and the fronts more around 8". Diameter 17-18s most likely. 17s can look decent if they have the right tyre wall height to fill the wheel guards, low profiles on these cars just don't look right.
At the moment my budget for secondhand or new rims with or without tyres would be 1k-1.75k. Obviously have to spend the extra for tyres if there are none.
Speaking of tyres any ideas what specific brands are worth going for? Im not after most expensive ones but, some with a reasonable level of grip for a reasonable price
Pictures and tips about wheels for celsiors would be appreciated... So if you have any input please post away!

Hey Mike. Mate i have 18" linea sport Rims i believe they are 9.5 at the back and 8.5 at the front..... now as far as tyres go i have: Front: 245/40/R18 Rear(current): 265/35/R18 Rear (Future): 275/40/R18
I rekon you're right that low profile tyres look silly on Celsiors hence the future and current.
I'm running yokahamas but am changing to Nexens with no noticable difference 190 for fronts and about 230 for rears so around $850 for 4.

I'm running 20/245/35s on my celsior, and it's the right amount to fill the guard, but that's cause they're 20s... I'm going back to 18s though, so I will probably go to 18/245/40 on front and 18/265/40 on the rear. Do-Luck double sixes are the wheels...

Simon, planning on selling your 20's? Why you goin back to smaller wheels, ride to harsh? I want 20's because 18's look to small on a kitted celsior, got any pics of your wheels/car?

I am selling them actually. Few reasons. They look really nice on the car (well suited, plenty of dish), and ride ok as far as i know (never really had any other wheels on it) but: -I get scrubbing on occassion (but I probably need new front struts anyway) + 245s are slightly wide on the front so they rub on the inside of my guard... -They are illegal. There are spacers on the front to fit it over the caliper, wheel studs are too short (could get longer ones put in though)I have made up spiggots so they sit on the hubs properly now (professionally made). -A bit heavy I guess. (Rich said forged are better) so I am going back to 18s. My wheels are waiting in Japan to be shipped. - http://www.do-luck-usa.com/wheels.html - getting the chrome 9.5/18s If anyone else gets a set of these I will kill them, no others that I know of anywhere in Australia, they can only be imported...
But yer like I said, I wanna Sell, let me show you a pic.
$2000 negotiable - Tyres are pretty much stuffed, need new ones - They are worth over 3 I'm told
