My dad just bought himself a nice LS400 and being converted after I bought my soarer. The car is in great condition but it seems really slow?? Put your foot down and it seems like forever before anything happens. It seems to have way more lag than my TT. I have heard that the 1UZFE is sluggish but it really seems ridiculous. Also when switching to overdrive there does not seem to be any change to the revs.. and seems even slower when ECT is switched on power. Any help would be good since I own a TT soarer there is only so much I can help with.

Hmm Interesting, How does its performance compare to mine in this 0-120km/h video... It only has an intake done in this video and 2 passengers so shouldnt be too far from stock.

That's pretty good, I haven't timed it but it was slower! I took it for a test drive at it is slow! Weird thing is out out nowhere it accelerated like yours and then back to sluggish. All fluid levels are fine, have to check plugs but because of the overdrive not (seemingly) working I get the feeling it's the trans

Hmmm It could be the trans, I recall one guy here with a soarer had a doggy trans that wouldnt kick down properly and would lunge into a high gear so acceleration was really slow and the revs would probably hang around 2-3000 rpms and the car would slowly gather speed...
From memory it was something to do with the solenoids in the gearbox - but dont quote me on that, Im sure some other guys might be able to help.

Thanks for that. I had been planning on going to MV myself for sometime.Good excuse to ask for a shift kit. I'll pass the info onto my dad when I next see him. He's happy with it but I know thanks to this forum that his new car has more potential....maybe I should buy it for myself since my wife and I are expecting
