now That's what i'm talking about! Considering most of the parts i should be able to get for 2 grand or so... I might talk to my next door neigbour/local mechanic. The more I see this the better it looks, but damn I hope the Celsior doesn't have as many wires as that lol.

Thanks heaps for the info guys. I guess the rest is up to me to do my homework and find someone who can do the job, maybe it's worth buying another 1UZ to fit it all up and get it going first?

just shows what your in for.

Way to go Muzzy!
Im full of admiration for you for what you achieved under those conditions.
So good luck Simon with your project, and thanks to Muzzy for sharing your knowledge with us.

Over the 40 odd years that ive held a drivers licence, ive owned many cars including Cadillac Sedan DeVille and Allante, Chev Impala, Caprice, Camaro, Corvette and C10 trucks, Merc 420SEL as well as numerous other European, Japanese and local Holdens, Fords and Chryslers, but, with the exception of Lew at Marlew, never have i found such a 'closed shop' as ive found when trying to get advice or pay for work to be done on a car as ive had since buying this Celsior.

Sounds like an excellent project Simon, I really admire you for taking on a never before done job, just stay motivated to get it done! It will be worth it in the end.

Interestingly a guy I know is doing a possible manual and turbo conversion on his 92 celsior, Ill actually ask him how its going when I have a chance!

thats the point not many people modded the celsior its only recently that it has been modded far beyond what they were.

this was the exact same thing that happened to soarer owners then along came ALSC and with continued trial and error we are at the current situation.
in time more stuff could be available but the best is trial and error for celsior owners or look to japan for ideas and parts.its all out there more than likely you just gotto search and find the stuff.

Try Japan yahoo for performance parts there is plenty on there that you wont find here..

good luck to you guys and if there is something soarer owners to pass on to you we will try :-)

Mustafa,

As already said, a big up for your knowledge and experiences along the way. And as you said, there are many a good part to be had from over seas. I just bought a MiNES ECU for a Celsior, so I'm looking forward to that coming in the next couple of weeks. Will keep me going for a while until I can get it supercharged and then the manual conversion later down the track.

Cheers, Kevin

Ross Francis and others,

See if this link helps at all, that's if you haven't seen it already. About doing work yourself on LS400, not manual conversion (little off track).

Muz that is very impressive. Looks like one hell of a job, and is the reason I stopped on converting my Soarer to manual a few years back.. just a hell of a job in the garage with jack stands.

I can't imagine how you did it without going nuts. I've got a hoist to work on now and I still don't like doing trans work.

Lots of swearing tearing hair out and plenty of advice from those in the know.

the part were I joined the gearbox and engine I was in and out from underneath the car about 15 times..making sure front jack was pulled closer to engine and making sure the box didnt fall off.
but i was determined to do it..
