Hey everyone!

Just signed up here (Obviously) but have been reading around a bit. I need some help chasing parts and solving problems. Ok, so ill start off with things that are bugging me. The car is a UCF10 1989 C Package Celsior.

Cruise Control: Seems to only work every SECOND time the car is started. So, if my cruise isnt working, I can pull over, turn the car off and remove the key, start it again and it will work. Any idea why this is happening?

Climate Control LCD: Known problem, the climate control LCD has died. Where can I fetch a replacement? And how do I install it? The car is a C package so I dont need the one for the rear seats.

Rear Side Pillar Light: Missing on the left hand side, the light that comes on when you open the door and can be turned on with a button (the one up the top next your head) Missing that one, is there is a place I can get one?

Replacing Stock Stereo: Is there anywhere i can buy a replacement for the stock stereo for a normal head unit? Like a double din space, one for the head unit and like one you can throw other stuff into? I just want to put a single din head unit in, how can this be done?

Door speaker size: What are the speaker sizes in the front and rear doors.

After Market Air Bags: Who does after market bags? Ive still got all the stock gear (running coil overs atm) but the car has, already installed, after market controller. So I want aftermarket bags so i dont have to worry about any other problems.

Sorry if this stuff has been covered before, I did have a search but cant find what im after. Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. Im in Brisbane, so parts/info around there would be excellent.

Hi mate welcome to Soarer Central .
Long post !!
Ok , easy things first , the cruise control thing sounds like an unknown , take the earth lead off your batt for a bit and then reconnect , this will reset everything .
it might help to eliminate the 108 KPH cruise control limit ,this will also do away with the 180KPH top speed limiter as well and might also solve the cruise problem .
I have a brand new glass front LCD replacement sitting on my spares shelf , it owe's me $100.00 and seeing as you are in Brisbane I could help you fit it as it is a little bit tricky , not rocket surgery but close !!
It has the best operating temp range you can get , the font on it is also a bit more modern than the original , I have one fitted in my Celsior so you could have a look and judge for yourself .
I also have a rear pillar light .
Stereo is an interesting one , I run a pioneer 4750 MP3 player which improves the quality of the standard speakers out of site , you do lose the standard sub though , the pioneer won't run the standard amp that runs the sub , you could just get a an amp to do the job but I'm going to a JL W3 sub and a JL monoblock class D amp to go with it , this will be awesome !!
I have installed a Toyota unit below the single DIN pioneer that has a lined draw and an extra pair of cup holders , very very handy , in fact I was intending to go to a double DIN touch screen unit but now I'm going to stick with my draw and extra cup holders as they are so handy .
Have a look at the pics .
I believe 5" speakers can be squeezed into the genuine holders , you will need a split set that includes tweeters , you might change your mind after updating the head unit as the original speakers are very very good .
You will need to go quite a bit up market to improve on them .
Just as a note Autobarn Moss St installed my Pioneer head unit in about an hour without butchering anything , a very nice job .
Well I have my own opinion on the airbags , I have Arnotts industry replacement front struts and I'm very pleased with them , mind you I only have the original 15 year old units to compare them with , it is said that they are a bit more harsh than genuine's ??
However at $500.00 each landed in Aus including exchange rate and freight I will live with them seeing as that makes them half price , I have had them in over a year now and have had no probs .
as a note I get most of my parts in from the States at at least a third less in cost and a lot of the time less than half .
I also have a lot of spare stuff to do exchange stuff with , like hubs and a P/S rack and pump , it just means it can be rebuilt and then just swapped over meaning less time car off the road , I actually have a rack going down to NSW on Monday , total rebuild at a great price , when the guy fits it I get his rack to rebuild and then it's going in mine .

Did you happen to buy Lance's celsior with the JP kit on it??

Personally, air bags, although yes, look nice, they are still prone to problems... the coilovers that are in there, are more reliable, and make the car handle better... if you did buy lance's one, he replace the bags with coils because one of the bags burst, and the coils were more reliable... he just didnt take out the aftermarket controller.

I had a similar problem with my cruise control, and yeah i just reset it by removing the earthing wire from the battery...

As for the head unit, i replaced my original head unit with a Toyota RAV4 MP3/CD one originally... then i managed to fit a Response Audio dvd/mp3 headunit and screen into the original size, and it works a dream, and i managed to fit 6" splits into the doors, but i had to make a new holder for them as they wouldnt fit into the original...

hope you get some of those other problems fixed mate.

I did all my own work installing my jvd headdeck and 7" fold out LCD. Doesn't look pro, but does what i want it to do. What you have to do is take out the top air con vents (clip off) then the ashtray (which has a catch i believe) then you can get to bolts and things for the stereo. Great fun.. :-)

I'm running the standard Pioneer splits off my jvc deck. Sounds kickass and i'm an audiophile...

Rich I'll take that LCD screen off you, and that interior light. If you're free this weekend coming ill come and pick it up from you. Ill shoot you a PM in a minute incase you dont get to read this.

That unit you have that holds your headunit in, where did you get that from? because thats exactly what im after for my head unit to sit in.

And yes, i did buy Lacne's car, here is a pic.
