I recently acquired a new CD player to replace the old stock unit in the car as the sound was just lacking in depth. But now with this new one its fantastic, makes so much more use of the speakers and really goes well. Upgrading the 4 ohm sub to a more powerful 4 ohm amp as well tonight so it should be even better when thats going.
Heres the completed pictures. I made the surround and brackets all my self. Came up quite good. I also changed the A/C lamps to red bulbs rather than the 90's Green look.
I also took the time to Polish the PRND2L trim, spray paint the surround satin black. Then have the console wood grain trim sanded and polished to give a nice crisp shine and remove the bad scratches. Came up well heres some pictures of that.
Don Bagnall Moderator New Zealand I have WAY less Soarers than Hayden :-(

Im not sure what the story is with the LCD I think it maybe the original as it didnt look like it had been replaced when I had it opened up.
The LCD has been mint since I bought it - To keep it that way I put a dust cloth over the dash in sunny weather to keep direct sun off the LCD hopefully that will make it last much longer.

Sanded it down a bit with 1500 Wet and dry paper (keeping it wet) to get all the heavy scratches out.
Then sat there with a rotary buffer and mirco fibre cloth using 'Scratch X' to get all the fine scratches out and get that shine. Came up really well but did take a few days of on and off work.

I might take some new pictures on another more sunny day, they came up with a rather 80's looking blue tinge which does exactly look as good as it does in person.

Kinda Hard to explain exactly with out pictures but I made the MDF surround to a tight fit around the CD player and got the shape by tracing around the old CD player face plate.
To attach it to the unit to the frame I used some common brackets from a hard ware shop and screwed them in. Was pretty simple but worked great.
I cant get over how good the sound is now though. Its even better than my soarers one was out of sight. Plus the extra bonus of MP3 CD play back on my head-deck! 100 Track CD's!

with standard speakers? Honestly, I were a bit disappointed when move from ES300 98 to this Celsior 94. The sound in the ES300 is much better than the Celsior, and I'm in the progress of making the sound better.

Yeah I think the Stock speakers are under-rated a bit, they go very well for me. Plus having a better small amp on the 8" sub helps alot too. The head-deck is the real bottle neck the way I see it.
