Hi,
What year is the car? I can look up the wiring for you but as far as I know there is no computer/ecu for the interior lights it must be the only circuit that doesn't!
Whilst checking under the passenger foot well today I discovered another box of tricks that stabilises the image in the rear view mirror!

Peter, yep there is an ecu I think, its located above the emergcy/park brake in the dash I think, dont quote me, and dont quote me on that being the ecu to control the interior lights. It could be head light control unit, I have full wiring diagrams available to me but cant get to them for at least a couple of weeks, I will include pics of the ecu i think it is.
Cheers Joe

Thanks Guys
It's my brothers car and some of the interior lights do not work, the ones that fade in and out an electrician told him the "black box" had failed.. That box looks about right, I wonder whether the adjustment is the timer on the light fade out.
Appreciate all the help

while we are on this topic does anyone have any idea why my lights will come on when it senses it getting dark, but when it happens, none of my interior lights work..like nothing on the a/c controls, nothing on the PRND21 part, nothing.
someone help my case please i cant take it to an auto electrician and would rather fix it myself.

Perhaps those globes are blown?

Or do they light up when you turn the headlights on manually?

nope, nothing happens if i turn them on manually.
i hooked up some additional fogs and wired them into my parker wires and may have shorted them out in teh mean time, but i have not used the car for a while so i dont know if thats whats causing it.
is there a fuse or something for interior lights or for a switch to tell the lights to turn on when the outside lights do.

Traditionally there is a fuse for the lights inside, not sure about the Celsior though.

Def not another switch, lights stalk controls it all.

Also (just remembered), with most cars if the dimmer switch/knob if faulty, or unplugged, then the inside lights usually wont work.

argh, i didnt even think about the dimmer switch, but that controls the dash lights too iirc, and they are working fine...

edit: i went and tried to use the dimmer control and that doesnt change a thing. IE- the dash lights stay on full brightness (day mode) even when the outside lights are on.
im beginning the think its a switch or something somewhere that tells the interior lights when the outside lights are turned on. and the switch is rooted.

most of the dimmer controls are useless on the celsiors i've seen. With my instrument lights however, the right 2/3rds work, and my door clusters work (eg power windows) but i'm missing the left side of th4e aircon, and the power mirrors. So i have come to the conculsion the bulbs inside are blown, which would mean taking it all out and replacing the buld in them. I think i'll wait for rich to do it ;) and just get him to put in dif colour bulbs or leds or whatever they are haha

Way to go , by the way when are you paying me a visit ??
