now my car has been sitting there doing nothing for 6months and silly me never thought of keeping the battery in good health, and thus is f*cked, so i need a new one. now will most major auto shops just have a battery for a celsior in stock or is it a wierd type of battery? and would it be better to go to a dry cell battery or long lasting one or something since i am replacing it anyway? thanks.

depends really do u have a powerful sound system, or performance mods, if so then optima yellow top for sound system or optima red top for performance both are dry cell and cost a few hundred at least.

nah, no performance mods, and a bit of a sound system. may as well just get a plain jane battery. how much should this set me back? i have been quoted 200 from a major auto shop but dont know if that is a good price or not. any closer estimate to price of optima batteries..?

Gday Sam, the standard battery for a Celsior is a N70ZZL. Fits perfectly. Any spare stores like Repco, or battery places should have them. Its a standard size.

nah sorry Sam it cost me 300 for my camry optima yellow top but being such a huge battery in the celsior you would have to go to a battery place and find out from them

I paid about $170 for a Century battery from Autobarn. I actually got a N70ZZL4WD which is the same size battery but with a bit more cold cranking amps and reserve, it was like 20 bucks more. I think it's a Landcruiser battery originally.

It's the old old story , buy the biggest battery that will still fit in the hole and something with at least 650 cranking amps , personally I would go with a completely sealed unit , they cost a bit more but require no maintenance . I bought one about 8 Mths ago and it cost me $178.00 from battery world...worth every cent !! It actually has 750 amps cranking power .

550CCA would probably be adequate, unless you have all the extras like heated seats etc. But if you can get a 750CCA sealed unit for under $200, sounds like the way to go to me.

hah, i got phone quoted 149.95 for a N7OZZM-F which is the 4wd version with 730cca from my local parts shop so i go in to pick it up and it actually retails for 220.00 but the guy stuffed up so i picked it up for 150. STEAL

Careful, in the code N70ZZx the x stands for the position of the terminals (either positive or negative, I don't know which). So while an N70ZZL (left) is fine for a Celsior, an N70ZZR (right) would have the terminals around the wrong way. No idea what an M is (middle?!) but the cables might not reach the terminals. If they do, you're laughin'
