Has anyone seen or used these headers on a Celsior before? Look like they may fit. Good price too.

Yeah, they look really good. When I buy a soarer or celsior I may look into buying something along those lines or maybe these ones... They are a hell of alot better than those stock rubbishy ones!
$600 AUD is not bad. Plus they are not too big like those nice long Tex headers shown on Planetsoarer..

Any updates on headers for the celsior and if the ones pictured actually fit a celsior?

found an thread on Lextreme about celsior headers from June this year about a guy in Sth Aus that got some headers made for his LS400.
there were some others wanting some and I don't know if it went any further, so here is a phone no for Streamline Exhausts in Sth Aus 08 8337 0066, talk to Nigel.

Here is a couple of pics of the headers he made.

the guy in sth Aus didn't have a mould etc so if you want him to do it, you need to leave your car with him for a couple of weeks...
as for castle auto, when i emailed them 6months ago because someone asked the same question they said if anyone with a celsior in victoria wanted to go there and see if they did fit then they were more than happy to.

Hey all, just wanted to bring one of these old posts back to the top to see how people are going with sourcing headers for their Celsior. Has anyone confirmed with Castle Auto if their set will fit? And has anyone found anywhere else that might make up a set? How many people have had custom ones made and approx. how much would that be worth?
Cheers fellas

Custom ones will range from $150-$200 per port.
So roughly $1200-$1600.

Thats just the extractors, the rest of the exhaust will cost more, and HPC coating will be about $400odd more aswell.

In my opinion for the Celsior you need low to mid range , a shorty four into one style header will not give you that .
What's needed is a true Tri-Y , it would not be exactly equal length but close enough , this would mean relocating the original cats as the headers would finish about where the cats finish now .
I have researched this a lot and no-one is making such a system without a custom fit like the guy in SA .
I know a custom builder here in Brisbane who will make jigs up if he gets a solid order for 10 sets , they would be a true Tri-Y design with 1.5" primaries and going down to 2.25 or 2 and an 1/8 runners .
Worth about 20 to 30 HP minimum with it also being freer reving , smoother la la la , all the reasons that one wants a set of headers .
Cost would be around $800.00 to a $1000.00 a set in steel [ isn't mild steel wonderful stuff !!] , certainly no more , they would also be TIG welded , I have the capabilities to build headers myself , just don't have the time or a hoist or a spare car to be without for a week or two !!
The reason I said that was so that people would know I can keep an eye on the build to make sure it was done properly .
Eventually I will be setting this in motion myself , I have a Mines ECU on my Celsior and I want a set of headers as well , I already have 4 confirmed buyers that will give deposits .
When I get 10 serious buyers I will talk to the builder and set it up .

Rich I'll be in contact as I would like some headers for mine but as usual no spare change at the moment. When I do come up with the dough is it possible to send to WA safely at all. Or if any WA Celsior owners know where to get good quality headers made.

If you want decent headers custom made in Perth, go to APC Enhancements in Myaree.

But for tuned length long headers you'll be up for $1500 minimum.

Speaking on the celsior headers topic, how do stock headers compare to a soarers stock headers? Do they flow any better?

From what I found they give a nicer sound than my soarer's headers did... Are they the log type on the celsiors?

The stock Celsior headers are the best that were given to any 1UZ.

I believe the VVTi Celsior got even better headers again.

Neil, in your opinion would replacing stock headers on a celsior be highly recommended as it is in V8 soarer?

Greg,
Main reason headers are hard to make for the Celsior is the FLOOR is to close.

If you look under your car, you will see where the primary pipe bends at a near 90 Deg when it reaches the floor.

I have spoken to two specialists one of which I've known a long time but had discounted him as he was a bit dear , turns out he has made two sets of tri Y headers for Celsior/LS400's but didn't jig for them .
After a chat and the realisation that he would keep the jigs he thinks that a good set of tri Y's could be made un HPC coated for under a grand per set if he had an order of 10 first up as that would offset the time involved making the jigs .
I can also deliver a car to him for a couple of weeks .
Will be seeing him on Friday at his shop to set it all in motion and get an exact price .
To make it happen I will need orders for ten sets with decent deposits .
I really really want this to happen as I want the benefits that a decent set of headers give , but can't justify a one off custom set that costs like $2500.00 smackaroo's !!
One question is that will they also fit left hand drive LS400's in the States ?

yes, I was wondering about the left/right setup, as per the guy from lextreme in the US who had a set made here for his USDM LS400.

Interesting indeed, there would be a MUCH BIGGER market for the exhaust guy if they did indeed fit. At worst, I can only imagine it would a modification to one or two runners on one side only.

But yes, Im up for a set of headers.

D&T performance exhaust have just opened up here in Darwin. In January, I would be able to take my celsior in to see what they can do and for how much. Some of there local work sop far has been top notch, very very impressive.
