Hey guys I have done a search on this question, but to no avail. I am about to window tint my car, but I have a concern about the rear window in regards to the demister lines, Mine are not in the glass, I can run my finger along the inside of the rear window and feel bumps every time my finger goes over the demister lines, Im wondering if window tint will bubble up or look silly with the demister lines. Thanks guys

Most demisters are only stuck onto the windows. The quality of the tint and the end result depends on the installer and the way the window is cleaned prior to the Tint being put on. I have had every car I have ever owned (20+) tinted and have never had issues. Most Tinters these days will give a lifetime warranty (or as long as you keep the car) on things like bubbles appearing or fading etc.

If your in a Celsior, then yes, the demister lines will be a pain in the ass. They make the tint bubble up, only because the demister lines are so thick. Theres two ways to approach it.
Either get the tint done on a really hot day and constantly push out the air.
Or you can just do it and push out the bubbles where possible. Try to leave only the bubbles along the actual demister lines. They will gradually shrink a little bit and after a week or two you can add a small slit/pinhole alone the demister line to let the air out.
When i got mine done, the tinter chose the second option. I was really worried about the holes being visible/wrecking the tint, but it is all good. It was quick and easy in comparison to spending the whole day pushing out bubbles.
In preparation to tint you can go over the demister lines with some very fine grade steel wool to try to smooth down the demister lines. This was done on my celsior and it doesn't affect the demisters at all.
BTW: I'm not a tinter by trade, nor have i done my own tints. This was the information that i got regarding tinting a celsior when i went and asked around a whole lot of tinting places.

I had mine done in 5% around 8-9 months ago. Turned out really well. The day i got it done i left it out in the sun for a few hours, and kept pushing out the bubbles every 45mins or so. Most of the bubbles were on the sides of the rear window.

i done it maybe like 6 months ago, its as dark as chris's tint and it has little layer of bubbles following the demisters, but you have to look for it to notice it. it was applied normaly, all you have to make sure is you clean the window really good before you apply the new tint, i had tint from japan on it and it was a bit**ch to remove it, applying hot steam on it just made it worse. infact it was easier removing it dry then applying hot steam.
