Hey guys Since I got my car back from the spray painters, I have noticed something odd... The spray painters said that while it was in there, the battery went dead, so they jump started it, I am unsure if they used a battery pack or used another car to do it, but lately I have noticed something. I drive with my headlights on every time I drive, I just leave the headlights on, and when I take my key out of the ignition, and open my drivers door, they automatically used to turn off, but these days they dont... Now here is where it gets funny, I open my door, the light in the interior comes on, the light on the door to light up the ground doesnt come on, the "open door" light in my dash comes on, so what I have to do these days is push the button in that registers if the door is open or not and when I press that, the headlights turn off and the door is "officially" registered as being open because the light in the door turns on... I understand that this may be hard understand whats going on, but I am just unsure why my door is not registering as being opened until I manually press that button with the rubber over it, I have taken off the rubber and sprayed lubricant on it to perhaps help it move, but does not really change it, all it done is reduced the occurance for a few days and now its back to happening on a regular occurance.

They are being a*#holes about everything, I got little bumps underneith the paint and they are trying to say that I must have done it when I drove through a worksite or so, They are just not being very pleasant since the job was completed.

um, how could they possibly blame you for any defects on the paintwork, when they have just resprayed it. considering the amount you spent on the respray id be taking some mates down there and getting those 'bumps' sorted out.

John - It sometimes works, sometimes doesnt, and if it does not work, all I have to do is touch the door open/close button and it is fine, so thats what tends for me not to think it is a severed wire?

Mine did a similar thing and it was the contacts on the door switch itself,I removed the switch gave it a squirt of electrical contact cleaner and worked it a few times before refiting it. Been OK since. Can only offer to send you a baseball bat for the paint shop problem!
