Hmmm , interesting , looks like they have changed from using the original shock part and gone to Bilstein , at $699.00 with freight being around the $100.00 mark that puts them at the same price as a brand new genuine unit so cost is not a deciding factor any more , I do know that their air bags are a bit thicker in the material and this translates into a slightly less responsive unit ? Very hard to tell without one of each on the car at the same time . I would be very interested to hear from anybody that fits them . Again unless you had new genuine's on the car to compare to it's not relative , a bit like people who fit new coil-overs and say they are so much better then the air...of course they are better than 17 year old air struts!!! Try comparing coil-overs to a set of new air struts , might be a different story.

Had a thought about the Bilstein shocks. Are these adjustable like the OEM Toyota ones? I guess you would lose the TEMS function if they werent, as there would be nowhere to mount the solenoid on top. The picture shows the mounting plate on top, but im not sure about the function of them. Ive never seen Bilstein struts with adjustable plates on top. Also, i dont think they would be too good if on the front only, as would be mis-matched to the standard rear struts.

So it would be unwise to use these on the front (no TEMS) with OEM struts (with TEMS) on the back. Would make the car feel very unbalanced IMHO, let alone throwing a fault light. Front of car would feel totally different to rear, with possibly dangerous understeer/oversteer handling.
