I am wanting to remove the air bag struts from my celsior. And I am struggling to find standard replacement shocks springs and top mounts, I know I can get them through Arnotts in the USA But I can't find anyone here, I have spoken to Pedders and they coulden't help as KYB don't do front springs any more and no seems to do top mounts, Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Tim

For a start you don't need top mounts , the shock has nothing to do with the steering on the Celsior , the steering is all done on the bottom ball joint . If you want to go to coil-overs then either go JIC or Tein , the problem with nearly all the other coil-overs is that you go from a super long travel suspension to a coil-over with a short small diameter spring and it's horrible ,way too stiff , at least the JIC's and the Tein's have a simlar diameter spring and it's only about 2 to 3 inches less in length . I can get you some off Yahoo Japan , secondhand Teins go from about $800.00 a set to a thou , or brand newy's can be had for $1500.00 odd to about 2 thou . Just be aware that really good quality coil-overs cost not much less than new air struts . Be aware that when you get rid of the air system the semi active suspension is gone !! No more anti dive and anti squat , no more self levelling suspension either .

Thanks for the input, Don't really want to go Coilovers as its a daily family car, I have had coilovers in other cars and really find the ride way too stiff for every day use. I really want a standard strut not adjustable, Thats why I need top mounts, It seems like arnotts is the only company that do a standard strut without air bags.

Tim, if you dont want to use the Arnotts struts, have you tried any wreckers that deal in LS400's, as every one sold new in Australia had regular coils and struts. There should be a few sets floating around.
