Gday Gents,

Its almost time for me to fork out for a new set of tyres on the rear. While I was down there today reading the tyre size I noticed on the tyre it says "Dont not fit to 9.5inch rims" the tyres are 245/35ZR19's and I do have 9.5inch rims that they are fitted to.

Is this what they reffer to as streched tyres? Is there a saftey issue with this?

Do you think I will have any issues getting a tyre mob to strech the tyres? Is that normal practice of should I be going somewhere special to get the tyres fitted?

I know its a very basic question but I have never had to deal with something like this, and I was hoping someone may have some light to shine on my situation.

Thanks heaps guys.

245's are the thinnest tyre you are legally allowed to fit to a 9.5" rim. (ie a 235 is illegal).

245/35/19 is the perfect tyre for that rim.

I think what you may have looked at was "Dont fit to a 19.5inch rim" which refers to the diameter not the witdth.

19.5" width rim! That would be something.

haha

I had 235s stretched on my 9.5" rear. Never had dramas. Did some sliding occassionally, nothing major tho.
