I use the ASG-63x and I've never seen anything scroll across the screen. My heights range from 9,,0,A,,F with 9 the lowest and F the highest.
Are you sure you've got the right model number?

Here's what mine looks like:

Here is what a little searching got me, I had the same issue until I found this.

http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/282/7381.html?1123898320

"Ok, had to sign up to respond to this

The instructions above seem to be for the ASE model height controller (5 x 8 segment characters with a blue backlight). The ASG has 2 5x6 segment dotmatrix displays (left one shows front and rear height settings, right one shows balance).

Although the features are almost identical the functionality seems to be quite different. For example, to enable the super low mode and being able to change height while driving on the ASG, you just hold the top right button (while the unit is off), then start the car and continue to hold for another 3 seconds. It will beep and thats it. Done.

Now as for the translation, I am about to receive an english version of the ASG63X manual from a friend, which i am happy to send a scan of to anyone that needs it. I actually want the Japanese manual though if you are willing to send a copy to me Phil? Kinda like a trade

Reason I want the Japanese manual is because the English R-Spec site lists the ASG as a base model controller, whereas the ASE is a 'superior' model. On the Japanese site it shows the features of both these controllers to be exactly the same (plus the dotmatrix display is so much cooler than trying to decypher the 8-segment displays). Anyway, i am concerned that the English manual might 'omit' some of the features that are explained in the Japanese manual (some marketing ploy?? Conspiracy??)

Of course if this is the case i will be translating the additional parts and will send out to anyone who needs them."

once it gets to 9 you should be able to hold down the lowering button and it will go into L which looks pretty cool when it's parked.

While I did this, I held the button again on L and it turned into a capital L. Does that mean its lower? I cant really tell to be honest.

To activate super low mode turn ignition off and make sure the controller has no power.

Hold down the top left and right button together then (whilst holding down) turn on the ignition.

Super low mode will be activated which will give you an additional 4 settings ie 6 7 8 9 total
FEDCBA0123456789

Nice controller by the way. You also have 3 preset memories, TEMS (hard mode) and can vary the height by speed.

THon makes it harder than with TEMS switch on the middle console? Or just the same thing? Been trying to figure out that one for a while.

So TH = TEMS Hard/Hold. So if I activate that, and the TEMS switch on the console does it make the suspension harder? Or no difference?

Ken, If you have an aftermarket controller fitted, like the ASG-63x, I think the TEMS struts are controlled by it instead of the button on the centre console (which then becomes in-active).

So having the TEMS set to "ON" on the aftermarket controller will have the same effect as the "SPORT" mode on the centre-console button (ie firmer struts).

The height buttons (NORM - HIGH) work simaltaneously with the height controller, as I flick mine to high when getting home instead of changing on the height controller.

I have teh ASG63-x

Tems and High/Normal cabin controls are retained, ans still function around the controller.

Only the TEMS-HOLD function on the controller overides the cabin controls: It hardens the out of the rebound that TEMS adjusts. Wether cabin control is set to Sport-Normal doesnt matter if TEMS HOLD is activated.
