Its all here mate,
Have a read. Takes a while, there is a bit of junk in it to filter through but all the info if there.
If the needles on the speedo and tacho are blinky and not lighting up, it is due to the special paint they put on the needles to illuminate. There isnt a DIY for this yet. There is companys out there that can do it so it can be done just not sure how lol.
But if the other dash lights are blinky its just leaking caps. Read it up Cheap fix.
and for the record, the american ls400 dash is slightly differant to the aussie (just apperance wise tho all interal components are the same) but the aussie ls400 and jap celsior have the exactly the same dash (aussie version might say, premium unleaded only somewhere near the fuel gauge) but that would be the only differance.

Andrew,
I would say yes easy to fix. First you need to suss out if its the switch itself. But they are a pretty generic part. Could be swaped with one from any car that runs on 12volts which is anycar really as its been the standard for decades. Go steal one from your local wreakers from a approx 1990 cressida or something would be the best beat for fitment id assume.
