G'day guys,
Ever Since taking owner ship of my beautiful Celsior it has had a crack in the rear windscreen, It hasnt really bothered me that much as there were more important things to do on the car maintenance wise before hand. Anyhow it's i'm now to the point inwhich I will be going to replace the rear glass.
Does anyone know where a good place to be looking for the windscreen would be. I understand that the australian delivered LS400 screen would fit, but the difference is that the imported celsior has the radio antenna printed on the glass (much like the rear demister).
But if anyone knows of where to find a LS400 screen aswell that would be of help as I dont really listen to the radio but I would like to keep the car original.

Umm , I have a spare rear windscreen also [hello Hugh], I'm a bit hesitant to part with it as I know they can't be had from any windscreen place , not enough volume so they just don't make them . I believe a new one from Lexus is around the $1800.00 mark !! Mind you I can't really ever see myself needing a spare . At the moment it's still in the car so you would have to remove it yourself . Send me an E-Mail with your number and we'll have a chat . I guess you might have bought Damian's car ?

Gday Rich,
The fello I bought my Celsior off was named Darryn. His got a little workshop just behind alljap on kingston rd. It was ment to be replaced as part of the sale but I lost his contact number. Ouch $1800 Might look into getting one on insurance. Im not looking at purchasing one just yet as the funds are not immediatly avaliable, more chasing avalibity and a price to aim for.
Sounds like me and my collection of Toyota Crown parts, 99% of the stuff I will never need, but if I ever do it will be a pain to get so they pile on up.
What is your email Rich so we can discuss this more.

Andrew,
Well im sure they would have to be able to get a LS400 screen, I mean these cars are still on the road you must be able to get them. But the Celsior being a grey import with the radio ariel printed on the rear screen is a differant story. Well if I cant find one I guess I will just have not radio.
I will give them a call monday,
Anyone else every had to replace your windscreens?
Was it a brand new screen or did you have to find a 2nd hand one out of a wreak?

Read my lips , nobody and I mean NOBODY aftermarket makes a rear screen for the LS400 or the Celsior , front screens no probs , just not for the rear , no need to re-invent the wheel !! David I know Darren's car and he wanted the screen , he just never got around to it . if you want it it will be $300.00 and I'll give you a hand to get it out and fit it if you want .

Rich,
Thanks for the information its very much appreciated. I will be sure to contact you when I goto replace the rear screen (Won't be for another 2-3 weeks as rego and other things are due).
Thanks again mate.
Andrew,
The thought of drilling a hole in any part of the car sends a shiver up my spine haha.
So out of curiosity how would the insurance companys go about fitting a screen. They would just have no choice but fit a Genuine one at $1800 wouldnt they?

Gday Rich, hows thing?
The time has come for me to replace this broken rear window of mine, do you still have your spare one available at all? If so would I possibly be able to arrange a date/time for me to come and collect it at all?
