Dave you'll have to come back up and have a ride in my Mines equipped unit , you might change your mind and go for a Mines instead , it really does make a huge difference plus it's plug and play . I'm sure there's somebody out there who has successfully gone the unichip route but I don't know of any . Personally I would go for a mines or go the whole hog and get a Motech.

I wish it was that easy Rich, if I could find one I would buy one, seems to be plenty around for the series 2 ucf10/11's but never see any for sale for the early ucf10/11's. I once bought a mines ecu off yahoo japan suited for a ucf11, beautie I thought, I so I payed for it, waited for it, went to install it, oh hello, different connections at that stage I didn't know there was 2 different ecu's for the ucf10/11's. If you know of any for sale please email me with some information: david_burns@inbox.com Im definitely keen for a ride in your mines equipped beast, have always wanted to know how much of a difference is to be had, I need more poke to beat my brother is his bomby old v8 commodore, its just 2 quick for me. Does your mines have the rev limit raised? If so does it make any more power higher then the standard rev limit or is game over due to the stock cams? The reason I was going unichip was because i can get it one cheap and have it all installed and tuned for under $450 Peter from planet soarer done it to this v8 soarer and netted a %15 gain, I have also seen as much a %25 power gain from a xede piggyback tuned by sas, So going from this I figured the old piggy back cant be too bad, good value. The mines I got from japan cost me about $900! I only bought it as I happened to have too much spare money at the time not sure if the power gain is justified for the price. I hope you do know of the location of a mines, id love to have one.

Nope sold it, but I know where one is for sale. I was going to work out to see if there was someway I could just chop and change the looms and get it to work, but lack of pin out charts and I also read somewhere that the series 2 ecu's operate of different voltages and that rewiring it would fry it. But that is just something I heard, I honestly think it would be possible. Just need that pin out info to compare. the engines all run the same sensors so I dont see why not.

Rich:
I just found this picture, I must of taken it when I had the mines to show the guy who imported it for me that it wouldnt fit, he insisted that I must of found the wrong computer and thats its not the engine computer. But I knew I was right, I told it to a guy doing a 1uz conversion that had the series 2 loom. My computer is on the top, the Mines is on the bottom.

I got news for you David !! Your ECU is the same as my ECU !!!! Cos of course mine is sitting on the shelf sealed up as the mines is in mine . So it was as I thought , there was no change in the UCF11 ECU til the October 92 update . You where sent an ECU that doesn't belong to a UCF11 !!

rich: But after October 1992 they are still called a ucf11. They were ucf11's until 1994. Then the new body was released the ucf21. I was sent an ecu for a UCF11 just not the 1st series, I was unaware there was two series at that stage.
"UCF10 II (1993)
For the 1993 model year, the refreshed LS 400 (UCF10 II) was introduced with more than 50 changes, largely in response to customer and dealer requests.[44] Some of these changes included larger brake rotors, wheels and tires, CFC-free refrigerant, additional body side moldings, and a revised grille along with a greater selection of colors. Adjustments were made to the vehicle's suspension and power steering system to improve handling. For the interior, passenger front airbags, an external temperature gauge, digital odometer, and seatbelt pretensioners were added. These changes added to a number of convenience and performance improvements which the LS 400 had received in preceding years."

Andrew is right , they were UCF10 and 11 from 89 til the UCF20/21 came out . So from 89 til oct 92 the ECU's are the same , my brother in NZ has a 93 LS400 which my mines ECU does not fit , that's how I got my mines , my brother bought it and it wouldn't fit and he's an electrical engineer so even he couldn't do it because as you have mentioned the voltage changed . I have since sourced a later type for him and he was totally blown away by the amount of difference it made . So all is not lost Dave !!

I knew that about the 10/11 but to me same thing I always say ucf11 as they are the only celsior I consider a real celsior haha. So does anyone have information on when to find some ecu pinout diagrams? Cheers
