one of mine has 115k and one has 158k

The one with the 158k is in far better condition outside and inside but it does drive slightly better, goes to show that higher kilometers dont always mean worse condition, (Just means you need to buy rubbers, but thats easyer then a retrim and paintjob)

somewhere in the $3-$4K region. for every suspension bush in the car except one. Worth every cent the car is soooooo much nicer to drive and i get 20% better fuel economy for some reason too

I did Cols front end last week which was lower ball joints , rack bushes , lower control arm bushes and sway bar bushes and for the parts it came in around the $460.00 mark , but that was before our dollar tripped over a bit , add in upper control arms and front radius bushes and $1000.00 is easily spent on the front end .
Good for 100,000 K's though .

I am definitely interested in getting my front end redone, its clunking is driving me up the wall, now my steering wheels shakes hard under heavy braking. I was going to sell my Celsior but considering people are only willing pay about half of what I paid only 12months ago I am going to try keep her for life.

What is the best way to go about getting all this done. Do the bushes just get ordered from toyota/lexus? Or is there an aftermarket supplier? Do I order these from the likes of say pedders - fulcrum? Or do I have to order them else where and take them to a shop like pedders - fulcrum to have them fitted?

Or is there a cheaper option that is a available?

Cheers :-)

I get all my genuine suspension stuff in from the States and as such pay a 1/2 to 2/3's what it would cost here in Aus .
I started getting it in for myself but about 6 mates also bought Celsiors cos they liked mine so much .
I now get stuff in for them and usually fit it as well .
If you are interested send me an E-Mail .

I went through Vlamos and thought they were excellent do a search on this forum you will find more info about Vlamos. Don't buy white line or any of the polyurethane bushings. These will ruin the ride quality of the celsior.

Does anyone know of someone around the Melbourne area who could fit bushes for a reasonable price? I would probably source the bushes myself.

182,000kms.

Had it for 15 months. Needs bushes, ball joints, most suspension rods. Have replaced AC compressor and rebuilt alternator. 1989 model.

Aaron, How come you had to replace the aircon compressor? I have heard the tend to fail if not oiled up. But to be honest im not sure exactly how the lubrication on them works, to my understanding a form of oil is blended with the refrigerant, or does it just have its own little oil supply in the compressor itself? This is something I want to suss out as my compressor sounds a little noiser then I think it should be.

Mine (my father's actually) has 85,000km, after it had 48,000 on it when it was imported about 5 years ago.

I was suspicious, but the overall condition (and the cleanliness of the doilies on all the headrests!) leads me to believe the k's were accurate.

PS: The car is for sale now. Listing in For Sale section coming shortly.
