Well today I fitted the MiNes ECU into the Celsior.
Boy, does that make the old girl get up and dance. Definitely a TRC killer. Without TRC she can arc up the tyres pretty easy.
I have found the Celsior to be quite a willing performer, particularly off the line, but now that it has the MiNes ECU installed, it's definitely quicker. Nice thing is that it revs out to around 7200 RPM if held in gear, which really gets it moving.
Now for a decent exhaust and a Celsior style BFI, and the old barge should be a bit of a weapon.

Neil, do you recommend a twin 2" system for the Celsior? I have been quoted both a twin 2 1/4" system and a 2 1/2" system and have been told that a twin 2" system is also the way to go... I am confused!!

2 1/4 MAX pipe size...2 1/2 will drooooone.
Just run a twin 2" with a balance pipe in the middle then 2 straight through offset mufflers on the rear (NO CANNONS) with your pick of tips..(I prefer the Oval ones with rolled ends) 115mm wide 95mm high This setup should only set you back around $600 + / -

Mine is 2.5" = NO drone.
Ken Bruns recently had his Celsior exhaust done - cat back, sounds pretty good, meaty but discrete, which suits the Celsior a little more than full on grumble.
Perhaps Ken can supply the details of what he had done? Pretty sure it is straight pipe back to rear mufflers, no X-pipe, don't recall if it still has stock rears on or aftermarket, or what size pipe.
When you think about it, the main thing is to get the noise out the rear, not from under the car. My experience is that size of pipe doesn't cause drone (and I can't see any reason why it should).
Thinking about it, had a drive in a UZZ31 with a new cat-back exhaust yesterday, looked to be 2" pipe, and the sound is possibly a little harsher than mine at high revs. As it also has different mufflers and tips though, it could be due to any of those 3 variables.

Hi Guys, I have had the xover taken out and 2" put in all the way fron the cat sensors back. just before the axles are small hotdogs and after are two flow thrus with somewhat bigger exhaust tips. It's not as loud as some of the guys have their Soarers, but it works for a car I still have to visit clients in, most of them DO notice though!
