OK, so I figured I'd mess around with an old Data Systems/RSpec height controller.

Car was sitting normally, plugged controller in, turned car on - lights came on the controller but nothing much happened when I tried to adjust.

I figured I'd play with it later, so unplugged the aftermarket controller and plugged the regular height computer back in directly (no harness plugged in). Started the car again to check it was working.... as a result the car is now sitting on a big angle, left front is very high, left rear is mildly high, right side of the car is normal.

Has anyone had this happen and can anyone suggest how to fix it? I tried resetting the system by removing the battery for a while to let the stock height computer "forget" its settings, but that didn't seem to help.

Did you drive it around a bit after the battery hook up?

Pull the "B" fuse from the fuse holder above your feet under the dash , it's actually marked with a "B" on the fuse cover , leave it out for 10 mins with the battery connected and the ignition off , this will reset the suspension ECU .

That should have reset it too. I have seen where the system then didn't correct until it had been driven a couple of k's.

I couldn't get to the under-dash fuse easily - removing battery should have reset it. I'll try the fuse next.

I tried taking it around the block - it was in too poor shape to go any further (front-left strut was at full height and was stiff as a rock, both rear struts didn't seem to have any air in them at all - not good to drive on). That didn't seem to have any effect on the height.

Tried resetting it again by removing battery, didn't help.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the height computer and does anyone know if there's diagnostics it can run, somehow?

Also, should removing the air line from the strut let the air out or is there some type of valve in there to stop air releasing? I tried to remove the line from the high side to let it back down to a regular height but it didn't budge.

Do you have a copy of the manuals? If not I can send you a pdf file of the Suspension and Axle part of the manual. It's 247 pages.

Bob,

That would be great - does it contain any diagnosis information?

Happy for you to send via email if that's easier:
tom+sc@iplod.net

Thanks,

Tom

Sent the email. Hopefully it gets thru as the file is about 6MB. If it gets blocked by one of our ISP's i'll upload it somewhere so you can grab it.
