I tried for the first time the 6 stacker CD player and came up with 'error' and no play. Is this common and is there an easy fix? Tried cleaning the laser lens with cleaning disc and made sure CD was clean.

it happened to my celsior when i first got it as well! i took my stacker apart when the cassete was still in, and noticed even though the cassete ejected when inserted, and the cassette sat inside the stacker was on an angle i remember mucking around with the plastic gears and got the cassette level then it worked. bit hard to explain lol

Mines like that too mike. Never bothered about repairs though. Its really really common, and lots of second hands ones are around, but who knows if they will aork for how long?
If anyone has any more ideas on what the ususal suspects are that cause the stacker failures, Id sure like to hear it!

Pretty much all them would be like that by now. Mine worked for brand new unscratched CD's, but didn't work once they had some scratches, or were burnt cd's.
I got a quote on repairing it, the laser needed replacing, and something else did as well. Total cost was estimated at $600.

Oh, bother and drat (not my words). Anyone got a working one I could buy from them? Joshua, I might take it apart to look at the mechanical bits, otherwise I'm stumped.

OK Scott, if you can assure me it is not dinged or badly scratched, then I'm happy with that price. Please PM me your bank details and I'll reply with my delivery address. I think you're saying the total is $70.20.

It's not badly dinged or scratched. I'm in the process of uploading pics now so you can see it before transferring any money. I'll pm you after that
The metal side is in pretty good nick but if yours is in better condition they can easily be swapped over. It only takes a couple of minutes to do. I know because I took the metal side off to remove the mounting brackets to ensure its a more uniform shape for postage. I will post them with the stacker
