I assume that 88320-50010 part is just an earlier compressor model but given I don't know how the air rear works I am hesitant to buy one without confirming first. Is it just a plumbing inside the car that differiates how the air is diverted to the back?
Can anyone that has changed their compressor in a Celsior able to confirm this?
My options are: second hand compressor rebuilt four seasons or denso compressor and a new Denso compressor part# 4711162
Looking at my options and prices I believe a new Denso part# 4711162 from RockAutoPart.com is the best option. The price is only $20 dearer then the remanufactured Four Seasons. Price delivery is between $490-520
Rock Auto looks the cheapest for a compressor and I have used them before
If anyone can confirm before I pull out the credit card

I have a spare compressor that you can have for $200.00 , came out of a Cel with 118,000 K's . I would be wary of any compressor that isn't your model year , Crown compressors look the same but there are differences and they can't be used , V8 Soarer compressors are very similar but won't interchange either and I have both of these on my shelf , later model Celsior compressors 95 on also don't interchange so either a new one or a secondhand one . Any Celsior up to oct 94 would most probably fit .

Cheers on the offer for a 2nd hand one but rather not risk it. The celsior was gassed up today for the 1st time since I've had it and weary of a 2nd hand one failing again after regassing it again

Man I should learn to read better !! I was referring to the suspension compressor !! Had it set in my mind as I've been talking about suspension stuff . Bad my . So yes most definitely go for a new Nippon Nenso compressor .

You can get your Compressor rebuilt for $550. If for that price you can get a new compressor, do that. Pretty sure all the 1uz compressors are interchangeable but the one in the models that had rear air con MAY be different.

I was even actually expecting a tad more for a rebuild but new for the win at only a tad more. The other pain about a rebuilt is the time it will take to get done. Car will either have to stay off the road for about 2 weeks or have to install an idler pulley on it.
I should have spent more time on the net tonight trying to confirm the compressors are the same. I'm 95% positive will the comments here they are. But instead I spent my time looking at 95-00 calipers. Money I don't have to spend HAHA
This is by far the best forum to get information on and ask questions about Celsiors. Thanks everyone for your input. I'll probably order the compressor tomorrow and pay the extra $35 for EMS shipping. If I'm going to be spending the money I may as well get some use out of the air con before we lose the hot days
RockAutoPart.com is by the best site for Lexus stuff I have come across. So hard finding places that ship to Australia as well. Shipping is a lot cheaper then other places too (including ebay)
I was going to start a Celsior parts interchangeability thread once I get a bit of time.

ended up costing the guy about $400 AUD Delivered, if you can get it for that much your doing well, and the bonus is it comes with a reciever/drier, which usually cost about $40 or so for the LS400.
Other than that you could try call Nippon Air Spares or CAR in Keysbourough and see what prices they offer for rebuilt units
