Hello Gents, Was just wondering if anyone would be able to shed any light on a question i have. I am looking at importing a celsior and have known there is the C and C-F package of which the CF is better. As i am searching i am also finding in later years around 94, C Multi and Multi V(not the juice) etc Can anyone help me out as to the differences of all these different packages

Brendon, the only Celsiors currently able to be brought in are 89/90 models that have already been purchased in Japan by the importers. In these models there are the A, B, C and C-F Spec cars. Autospeed has a good description at http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_2524/article.html The UCF11 was also able to be purchased with a Multi-Vision as well (C Multi), these are very rare, I have seen a screen come up on Yahoo and wondered how hard one would be to retrofit to my Celsior. As you have found the later years cars (UCF21/31) had the Multi V(ision) EMV fitted model as well. Some examples of these are listed here http://www.kadoco.co.jp/sample_bid/HAAKB/data/TOYOTA.html Hope this helps.
I understand that only the 89/90 is available now for import but was wanting a 95. I think tht would be classified as a private import, but am yet to find out the process and details for import in that case. Thankyou for the details you helped a lot especially that one from Steve, (what i was looking for partially) Do any of you know the process for private import and the rules? i have emailed a few places but have lacked replies. cheers

You have to live there and own it for one year. You will be asked to provide passports showing your Visas for that time period, as well as parking receipts or something like that (to prove it was driven during that year).
The only way to do it, is to make friends with an ozzy living in japan (preferrably in a city, cos then they wouldnt already own a car), and ask them to buy the car. One year later they can import it with them when they come back to visit australia.
You would have to pay all fees for them to own the car for the year, as well as the airfares when they come back with the carn, ON TOP of the regular car purchase/freight/import duties that you get with importing a car. To get it registered is the same as 89 and earlier cars (intrusion bars, seatbelts etc)
All this time and money required means that it better be a *VERY* special car, and something you will still want after one year!

Well, by the end of it, it might end up being more expensive than buying a local LS400, especially when you consider all the Lexus badging and parts that you will end up getting (trying to convert to 'Lexus' spec). I believe even the aussie ones got a screen around then.
Not sure what the deal is with the 89/90 ones now - I thought they were not going to be allowed into australia after the end of the year, and considering shipping takes 3 weeks it could already be too late!
