Hey guys, been a while since I have been online. The celsior has been gathering dust as I lost my licence......twice, but have decided to sell it and get a 00 model LS400.

I have two problems. I recently got a new battery and started her up and had a light stay on the dash that looked like a radiator. I lost all my celsior information I had on my computer so cant find out what it is.

Another thing, is there a tutorial on how to change the brake pads. I like to have somewhat of an idea on how to do things before I try to tackle them.

Thankyou guru's, and take care.

Sam.

Hey Sam, ensure when you lift the car using a Jack that you have a secure and solid point to lift from under the car.
Just take it nice and steady and you will see that it is not so difficult.
You will need to squeeze the pistons in the caliper into its home position before you can get the pads in and over the disc rotor.
Some kind of G clamp will work, otherwise you can go to SuperCrap and get what you need to squeeze the pistons in, or you can use a bearing puller that will double up as a brake compressor. Make sure when you compress the caliper that the brake fluid bottle is not full as the fluid will go back to the bottle and spill.
The single piston caliper is simple enough to compress, but use one of your old pads to protect the piston, room allowing, and same for the front twin piston set up. This helps to push both cylinders in evenly.
Or you can just undo the bleed nipples, and squeeze the fluid out the caliper, which will mean you will have to bleed your brakes once you have finished.
Make sure you assemble the reverse order of disassembly and ensure you dont forget to put the anti squeal plates and springs in their correct spots.
The only link that I found on here to help is

Thanks fran. I kept doing a bit of searching and found this
http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/brake/fbpad.html
Going to do it this weekend, looks too easy!

Found out the dash light that was on was the low coolant level indicator.

So all problems sorted now. Cant wait to move this one on and get a 2000 model LS400 now.
