Guys I'm considering to buy a celsior http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_vehicle?vehicle_id=2797019¤t_rec=6&used_rec=7&total_rec=17&sort_type=&tota l_rec=17&sort_type=&make_id=8&model_id=4674&state_id=-1&search_distance=25 I'm in Melbourne, this car is in queensland. what's the best way to check it out? RACQ? or any celsior expert would be willing to test it for me (naturally I will pay for your trouble)

I'd be going for the black one mate, even though the CF version has the massage seats and that, there's something about a "luxury car" without leather seats that doesn't seem right to me. the one on car sales looks nice.
You're right though Geoffrey that does look like a good buy!

The CF car can be given a full, brand new leather interior for $2000 . . . but . . . the pov pack car can't realistically be fitted out with the many F pack features. The Celsior green is different to the Soarer FSG, and is, in my view, very classy. BTW, many Australian delivered LS400's are very good buying. Most have service histories, are better equipped than Celsior pov packs, but are not as well decked out as CF cars.

Good point mate, well worth checking out the local LS400's. I went for the CF package myself Geoffrey and had to replace most of the leather anyway, front seats were $1500 alone that was with some serious leg work!! doubt you could get the rears and door trims done for $500 but good luck to ya if you can!

9 months ago I had my Celsior booked in with one of Melb's. biggest and best known trimmers for a full, total re-trim for $2000 cash. Before the scheduled date, I changed my mind, believing I wasn't going to add $2000 to the car's value, so I didn't go ahead. Admittedly, some other trimmers wanted a fair bit more to do the job, but the $2000 is a "ridgy didge" figure.

I backed out only because I was close to selling the car. I think it's very good value to go leather if you plan on keeping the car for 2-3-4 years. Mind you, the velour is cool, warm, non-squeaking, etc, as many say.

Geoffrey. Looks like you got a perfect match, soarer and LS400 I have been looking for a little while but there are a few with shonky body (ex accident) or sus air bags, etc... The one on ebay looks ok, but I really would like the leather.... a bit wanky, I know but the boss really likes it too. This one looks ok, but no leather http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_vehicle?vehicle_id=2579822¤t_rec=36&used_rec=25&total_rec=48&sort_type=&to tal_rec=48&sort_type=&price_min=10000&price_max=20000&make_id=20&state_id=-1&search_distance=25

Boss, you are right, next time I see something like this, I will be off to the airport and make it a day out. Who knows I may be cruising back in luxury. must be more decisive

Buy the one on Ebay, say, $9000, add $2000 for brand new leather, pretty good buying if the car stacks up, and you've got a CF (highly desirable to have the top of the range).

Repainting the bonnet won't be quite as easy as the owner states, but can be done just the same. Otherwise, it looks to be an exceptionally good car with a very sensible asking price, especially if Neil can vouch for it.
