just changed the auto nob on my celsior, the old one was all peeled and awful, so i took the whole thing out, re-attached the wiring for the overdrive, put it all back together, crawled under the car re-bolted the shifter, was basically feeling very proud of myself after just a couple of hours work. all was well in the world, then..
i tried to turn off the car and it won't, it's no longer recognising "PARK" so it won't move when i put my foot on the brake either, i'm having to use that red button to change gear and i've had to unplug the sensor so i can turn the car off.
i've spent another couple of hours trying to see whats wrong and i've got nothing!!

Hi Kip, there would appear to be an alignment problem, between the shifter, and the the selector on the box. From memory most auto's have a segmented attachment point at the lever to rod junction.
Best bet, disconnect the shifter from the selector rod. Make sure PARK is engaged at the selector, and position the gear lever in the park position. Then re-attach the rod and lever.
This should put you in the ball park, however some fine tuning may be necessary.
