I’ve been trying to track down a slight pinking problem that I have had for a couple of years. A lot of time, money (new knock sensors, plugs, leads, radiator etc) and process of elimination has led me to the conclusion that it is caused by overheating. After fifteen years and 204,000 miles the air-con radiator is visibly showing it’s age. I picked out a load of stone chips, straightened some fins and cleaned off some stray oil. This is the only thing that seems to have made a small improvement so I’m guessing that it has bad flow-through and that this is restricting airflow to the radiator.
I’d prefer to avoid the cost of a new one and the re-gassing so had anyone got any tips on cleaning these? The fins are very fragile so I can’t just go at it with a stiff brush.

Simon, may I sugest, a gentle brushing with a stiff-bristle brush,..........I doub't if this will get all the crap outa the radiator, but it's worth a shot.
