Hi all as the title states trouble shooting.

What i tried first, while waiting for my profile to be approved so i could make a post asking for the codes.

1. Unplug aftermarket height control. No change
2. Only have the factory computer plugged in. No change.
3. Unplug height control computer, disconnect battery for 1.5 - 2 hrs. No change.
4. Check compressor. Checks ok.
5. Check factory height control switch, plug. Checks ok.
6. Make sure the boot switch is in the on position.

All this lead me to think that i had a sensor or more expensive computer fault.

When i checked that the compressor was working i did not check to see the polarity of the wiring. Double check this as i caused myself another 2hr's of work in pulling out the compressor after it came up with a fault.
What i found was that the motor was seized, confusing as it ran ok when i tested it. After pulling it apart i found that the motor is connected to the compressor crankshaft by way of a thread on the end of the shaft. By running the motor the wrong way i unwound the crank off of the motor. Wound it back on, reinstalled and now it all works again.

This is why I suggest starting with the Diagnostic code's (what i did not do )

Diagnostic codes supplied by Steve Irlam (many thanks)

The short version
11-14 Height control sensor
21,22 Suspension Control Actuator circuit
31,33,34,35 ••• & No2 Height Control valve and Exhaust Valve circuit
41 ••• Height control relay circuit
42 Compressor Motor Circuit
51 Continuous current to ••• Height control relay
61 Replace suspension ECU
72 Suspension control Actuator Power source circuit
71 Height control ON/OFF switch circuit

I have put this post up as a way of caution for all who may have trouble with their air suspension.

Also check out my new pdf (tutorials).
The pinouts and wire colours will be different but the principles are the same.
There are some nasty faults that the diagnostics WON'T pick up.

how is the best way of reading error codes to identify what they are?
