I am still waiting for my car to arrive, if someone can post a pic of the front and back of their cruise circuit board maybe one of us can check it out......

I had it apart, its not like the soarer one. There are two plugs going into the module and no holes on the circuit board to put a jumper accross.

I would fit an aftermarket cruise using factory switch gear and actuators. Easy to do and cheap.

It would depend on how chweaply you could pick one up. Retail is $300 for the kit I used last time but I found the same one in K-Mart for $120.

Seeing this thread has the attention of those celsior drivers who use the cruise control I thought I might place my question here.

On my celly When I activate the cruise control it works fine for a few seconds then cuts out and the cruise light flashes on my dash for about ten seconds and I cant reactivate the cruise unless I turn the car off and on again and it does the same thing...im a little dumbfounded...any ideas?

I would guess that the actual cruise actuator is faulty (or accelerator is too stiff). I don't know what type of actuator Celsiors use; could be electric or vacuum so check wiring for poor connection or check for vacuum leaks if it's that type. Check for extra return springs etc on throttle.
When the cruise cannot maintain the set speed the cruise control will drop out ie my Soarer will not hold 180kph on cruise up a steep hill and the cruise will drop out

Rob Hayden did something to mine just before I bought it off him. As far as I know theres nothing 'added; to it, he modified something while he was under the dash. Can put the cruise on at 160.(Handy on the Stuart Highway)

Ill ask him what he did.

You take the speed ECU out which is sort of above your feet and you cut the J1 jumper wire, this will remove the 108 cruise limit and also remove the 180 max speed limiter as well.
There is a detailed post with pic's somewhere,I'll see if I can dig up the link.
Here's the link.

Oddly enough when I followed the instructions on removing my 108 cruise limit it didn't remove the 180 limiter. It's easy and works great for the cruise....but it definitely still has a limiter

I would be surprised if cutting the cruise control limiter affected the 180 limit. On a Soarer V8 the main ECU controls the maximum limit, not the cruise control computer. Using the same 1UZ engine, I doubt they would have done things completely differently in the Celsior, moving functions from one electronics box to the other when in other respects they are identical or near enough.

Hmmmm,I've done about 6 of the 108 cruise J1 jumper cuts and at least three of them are able to go past 200 KPH including mine and that was before I fitted a mines.
The other guys just never go that fast.
So I don't know what exactly the story is??
I did my own one about 3 1/2 years ago and a mate in Gympie often goes 220 on his way home from Brisbane late at night with no other mods other than the jumper cut .
Go figure ??

I don't understand it much myself, I have read and heard from a number of people that have done this mod and seemed to have worked. Only I definitely hit a limiter. What happened after you installed the mines? I have no real reason to ever go that fast but it's odd that it didn't work for me......the instructions are clear as day....I don't know.

The mines is awesome !!
Worth every cent !!
It extends the redline by a 1000 RPM,advances the ignition timing ,makes it richer where the standard ECU has the lean burn bit and leans it out where it was too rich, changes the shift points and changes how it shifts as well.
You should here it at 7250 held in second gear !!!
Fantastic !!
It rev's out so much easier and quicker and the car is just stronger everywhere,it's quite a bit stronger from idle but at 2500 RPM it really goes hard,it just screams round the tacho .
I've had lots of Celsior owners as passengers and they all comment on it, the other side is that when I drive other Celsiors they all seem a bit flat, almost like their is something wrong with it...then I remember and think, oh yes no Mines !!
My brother in NZ fitted a mines to his 93 LS and he was blown away by the improvement.
It's supposed to be worth 40 HP and I think it is at least 30 HP if not all of the 40 extra horseys.
I would totally recommend one.

yea mines ecu, Great and all, but not avalible from your local supercheap, infact near impossible to find, I have only ever came across 2 of them, (1 I bought, just to find out it was for a later model ucf11) Id buy one if I could get one. (Anyone know where one is??)

Oh and rich, About the extra rev limit, does it even make a difference with standard cam shafts, 1uz's flatten out after 5grand. (Seen a dyno sheet of a celsior with a mines once and it was dropping off power sooner then stock, around 4500)So to me this extra rpm limit seems useless.
