Any one have pictures of their celsior or ls400 which has just been cleaned and polished?

I just want to see some really tidy ones as a way to see how good they can look. :-) The reason is I'm planing on purchasing one towards the end of the year, I was plaining on buying a soarer recently but theres something about the celsior that I like more.

Ah cheers Rob, Been looking for those pictures for a while, they were in another thread some where... :-)

I have to say, Your car looks absolutely spectacular! That would be the best celsior I have ever seen - Ever. Yours just shows how great that can look with the right set of wheels and a clean exterior.

Great car Denham!
If you want to improve the look of it, take these kind of shots late in the afternoon to avoid the harsh sun directly above you.
Even better, find complete shade or like Rob did, take them on overcast day, then crank up contrast.
This will punch the shine out in your face (providing it is there in the first place

Oi!, Mr.Beck if ya wanna have something that NO ONE else has got yet............get an Aristo 4.0i-FOUR.

Same donk as a Soarer/Celsior, but with 4WD goodness.

I nearly got tempted by a real clean 1996 one on Trade Me......had sun roof & stuff, was totally stock........asking $13k.

Yeah Don, Ive seen that one. Really nice car but Im not a huge fan of the aristos, they are nice cars but seem too round and slug like in my opinion. The celsior has a far better shape at the end of the day and is right on the same wave length as the soarer regarding features and the design style..

The Aristo tends to be more like camrys and windoms from what I have noticed, which arent exactly on my toyota favorites list. Still great cars especially the rare 4wd 1uz-fe model like you mentioned! :-)

I must admit the early shape Aristo/GS300 DO look a tad frumpy in the butt department

Yes - Spot on there Don :-)

I also find the rears the main let down of the car, its just plain ugly with all the round shapes and odd rear light styling. In contrast the celsior has one of the nicest rears ive seen, especially the 1st gen model - those rear lights are to die for!!

The fronts nice on the aristo, very sleek looking however, you dont get that 'wow' look like celsiors large front delivers.

There's a Black Turbo one kicking around down here, and I must admit it ain't too bad..........specialy with the bling rims, tints & lowered

Found a hole bunch of the videos.

Love it how in this clip it still has the dull standard lexus rims! Makes it quite the sleeper...

Anyone have some links to decent professional reviews on the 89-92 first generation models?

I can only find reviews to the newer 2nd generation models which are a completely different car really. Just look the same.

Thanks Steve. I actually found that great review a few months ago but couldnt find it again.

Thinking about it I feel its best to try find a model with coils (B spec?) against one with Air suspension (C spec). I just cant be bothered with the hassle of getting it fixed or replaced with coils when its going to fail eventually since these cars are getting to be 14-16 years old. Only down side to this is I wont be able to buy a UFC11 model with all the extra goodies in the back as they all have air suspension :-(

Regarding the White C pack I was looking at earlier in the year - I discovered the new owner replaced the stock air bags with adjustable dampers and springs as the bags were developing leaks in the rear. So the air compressor was working alot more than it needed. It just shows the air shocks will eventually fail, that was a 92 model as well with a claimed 130,000kms on the dial, I feel they were not genuine though.

In general since Ive notice some of you have a soarer and a celsior, which one do you really feel is the better one to have regardless of the air suspension vs Active suspension area?

Im just finding it quite a difficult decision as both cars are just outstanding. However at the end of the day the soarer is the sportier model while the celsior is more of the cruiser.

Whats frustrating is Somethings telling me to go for the soarer due to its sleak long look and more sporty performance/handling while the somethings telling me to go for the celsior due to its solid looks and extra smooth ride quality...

What I really want is something thats comfortable as well as being able to go on the track for a few laps especially now that In NZ the new taupo tracks up and running. :-) From this perhaps the soarers they way to go.... hmm what to choose!
