Hello every one, I'm Damien from Ireland and for the last 2 months I've been looking for a JZZ30 auto :-) I like the look of Matthew Whitbread's, and Lindsey Swan's but they're out of my budget :-(
Found the site from the UK LSOC and thought I'd join up and learn some more about tuning the 2JZ as most of the English guys seam happy to stay relatively std., and I plan on doing a lot :-)
So far I've been mostly thinking about planning out power mod's:
Any care to guess at when I should get worried about the std CT12s ?
I've a good price on steel replacements, but a Trust/Greddy - Turbo Kit (T78 or TD-06 isn't much more to buy), so would appreciate any advice as I'm new to the turbo world.
Oh, and I'm dyslexic so excuse any spelling mistakes :-)

Damien.
I have just bought the Trust(GReddy) spec M kit for my soarer. Have not fitted it yet but I must say they include everything you need less the tools. Very impressed.
Don Bagnall Moderator New Zealand I have WAY less Soarers than Hayden :-(

Welcome Damien!
Firstly, Soarer TT's are 1JZ-GTE's, not 2JZ-GTE's

That all really depends on how the car is driven. Some have had the standard turbos last for over 200,000kms, some have had just over 100,000kms. If the owner(s) take care of the car and it is not driven like it's stolen every day, you shouldn't have any problems. I would say the average life of the standard turbo's to be 160,000kms from my experiences on this forum, but I'm probably wrong.
