G'day all, i just joined this site, im hopefully going to own a soarer in the new future, still deciding what one i want exactly, i think i'll go for the Turbo 2.5 6. The information on here is mind-boggling, keep up the good work!

It sure is, ive never driven a soarer, but can someone tell me what the acceleration is like in the Turbo 2.5 and the Non Turbo 3.0? Just deciding on which one still, turbo would be more powerful obviously but needs to be more well looked after, also is acceleration on either soarer quite fast?

Chris,

TT's are ULTRA fast!

V8's are fast & wind up quite nicely.

3.0's are smooth & not too shabby power wise.

So if im looking for a bloody fast car, out of those 3, i go for the T/T eh ;)

Also the with the EMV, does that control heaters etc, and i read it only comes with the 1994 and higher models of the soarers, is that true?

The EMV is ONLY available in the V8 Ltd models from 5/1991 - 8/1996.

And NO, it can't be retrofitted into a TT (at least not economicaly anyways!)

I found one for $7500 when i was looking mid last year .It was that cheap because when i took it for a test drive it blew blue smoke everywhere. All that i can say is if you are looking for a soarer that cheap get an independent inspection .

The last V8 Ltd (EMV) model change was in 8/1996 and the cars produced until late 1997. The coil-sprung non-EMV V8 stayed in production to 2000.

We usually look for the Search button, Chris, or go to "Topics" and "Soarer Information". We find this accords well with the "Rules" which propose that you see if a common question might have been asked before.

At least the car purchase will be gratifying

Chris, have a little look around.

A list was posted last week (I think), apart from that probably 30% of the posts are to do with problems, 40% to do with upgrades and the rest is friendly banter. :-)

You can do a search on "common faults". The first hit leads to this:

Sorry, thanks for the link, i usually do search, but it didnt occur to me that something with that information would be on the site. Thanks anyway. Also, does anyone live near Marrickville, theres a soarer i want there, i just wanted to see if someone could test drive it for me, check it out, before i go all the way up there, ill pay them of course for their trouble.

Thanks.

Tell the owner to take the car to Niall Bond at 2 Hale Street, Botany Mobile 0415866014
bondautotech@yahoo.com.au. and you can ring Niall on the number above and ask him the check the car for you. You probably have to pay him some thing for his service, I believe he will do good job.

Thanks guys, interior isn't bad, i'll get some pics of it soon. Seems like the arm rest and such is pulling away from the door, so i'll need to find someone to fix that, and the window needs a little push to go all the way down, other than that, its fantastic, and loving the turbos. Oh and my profile is updated now.
