Hey Everyone,
Been browsing through the forums for a couple of weeks - thought about getting a Skyline or a Prelude at first, but now I am sold on Soarers. I have a faint idea on what I want to get. Could someone help me out with things like what I should look for during inspection and and what I should do with the car after Buying (mods airfilter, exhaust, extrator - etc.)

Hello, Rinchen, welcome to Soarer Central!

The stock air filter flows just fine, but you can improve your power with a DIY modification called a BFI, just do a search and you will find tons of info, or check this out:
http://planetsoarer.com/BFI3/bfi3.htm

Exhaust, again you can do a search. There are a lot of options, but Lew Radbourn here on the forums seems to be the guru, I'm sure you'll hear his name again. Check out his website here: http://www.lexussoarer.com/
If your budget is large, supercharge (oooh, rap star here).
You'll also want to turn the car on and make sure the dash works, but even if it doesn't it's an easy fix. Personally I would also just look at the general condition of the car. If it looks as if it's been taken care of, that's a good thing.

Also, consider getting a 2.5L TT. You'll sacrifice the leather and the EMV screen though.

Don, now tell him how to fix them and how much.
There is a FAQ on Planet Soarer.

It's not as bad as it looks.
In all the time I've had my Soarer (7 years) I've only had bushes, ps pump, timing belt and the air bag struts (UZZ31) replaced - the air struts could probably have been regassed but I wanted it as new.

All in all a LOT cheaper than the BMW I had before (and that one from new for 3 years). BM's suck.

Don,
I've looked everywhere underneath and I can't find the anti-roll bars on my 32 let alone the bushes. The manual says something about anti-roll algorithms inside the computer. What kind of bush does an algorithm use and do I need a soldering iron to fit new ones? Part numbers?

That would be the gw bush and it needs a good shafting with a very hot rod.

No part numbers, as hopefully it's not replaceable.

Maybe you could fit a Whiteline sway bar and make it sway Roger.

28) Anti-roll bar bushes. (ALL) should read (ALL except UZZ32)

and a new item

35) New accumulators + reseal suspension struts (COMMON) (UZZ32)

Okey dokey chaps, I have amended "The list", and all further trottings out of "The list" will reflect this.

Benny

On the some Actives you can tweak the imaginary roll bars stiffness from the EMV, or at least on mine you can. No Whiteline anything required.

I'm sure you can Robert. My comment was only meant to say "you don't need roll bars on '32s". In fact, they would probably do more harm than good.
